100th poem guys! :) I never thought this book would get so far. Thank you!
-------------
We all know them
A few have seen them
(A lot have seen them.)
It's just one part of our world
We can't escape.
Just another part of our hell.
---
Watch 'em swing
Shake that ass
Lick those lips
Induring the hollers
The taunts
The shame it brings
While we're just enjoying it
Comfortable
High
Pretending they aren't human beings.
---
They do all this
By choice
(maybe.)
Because they want to
(have to)
Looking for fun
(looking for money)
Dirty little sluts,
amiright?
---
Tell me, do you ever think
Of the girl swinging for you?
Of her dreams
Of how she got to this,
Dancing on a pole
For a bunch of people
Taking a break from their stressful jobs
To "have a little fun".
---
But it doesn't matter
She's beneath us
Only here to please us
She doesn't think
She's not human.
(Besides,
If she didn't want to,
she wouldn't do it,
right?)
---
Wrong
---
They are the lost girls
and boys
Society failed them
We failed them
And we know it
And somewhere,
Deep down inside,
We're all ashamed.
---
So what do we do?
Why, what humans always do,
Of course.
It's too hard to fix
So we ignore them
Pretend they doesn't exist.
It's too hard to think about
So we vilify them
Shame and mock them
Twist it around
So it's their fault
Instead.

PoetryUPDATE: I wrote these when I was 13 and depressed all the time. I'm 18 now, and, fortunately, life's been going well! Unfortunately, these poems are fairly cringe, so read at your own risk. Just some poems that I write when I'm in the poetic mood...
