It's dark in here
But not to me.
Your eyes and face
Are all I see.
Burning into my soul
Piercing through my skin
But not for much longer.
---
It's quiet here
But not to me.
Your voice whispers
Lies
Threatens
Laughs
But not for much longer.
---
It's dark in here
But not for me
I see myself
Begging
Crying
Pleading
No! Please!
But not for much longer.
---
It's empty in here
But not for me
You're everywhere
All around me.
Pushing me down
Spitting in my face
Breaking the trust I put in you
But not for much longer.
----
I turn the corner
And there you are.
---
Stone-dead drunk
All those years.
Eyes glassy, unfocused
All those tears
I'm walking forward
Everything you did to me
My hands are shaking
Made me think it's all my fault.
You're helpless now.
I couldn't stop you.
I raise my hand.
Made me dead inside
Knife glints in my hand
All I've got left is pain.
You tilt your head.
But I can't stand it any longer.
---
So
I
Bring
My
Hand
Down.
---
---
---
You should never have turned your back on me
Shouldn't ever have turned your back on me.

Scratching the Surface (Poems)
PoetryUPDATE: I wrote these when I was 13 and depressed all the time. I'm 18 now, and, fortunately, life's been going well! Unfortunately, these poems are fairly cringe, so read at your own risk. Just some poems that I write when I'm in the poetic mood...
