They say it's just a phase
All teens feel this way
The patient will get over it
It'll be okay.
---
But my girl stays inside all day
My girl won't come out to play
My girl doesn't talk to me
My girl's wasting away.
---
They say that it's alright
They claim it's only a matter of time
Until the patient can feel again
Soon we'll see a smile.
---
But my girl is awake at night
My girl can't meet my eyes
My girl doesn't shed a tear
She locks it all inside.
---
They say They've seen it all before
They swear that this is just the norm
If the patient just keeps taking Their medicine
Everything goes back to it's true form.
And it's not like I disagree
I know pills are the best remedy
(I mean, everyone says so, even my friends)
I'm willing to spend all my money
---
---
---
---
But my girl's watching the foggy street
My girl's singing Gasoline
And though I know she'll be okay
It's so damn hard to see her this way
Gasoline - Halsey

PoetryUPDATE: I wrote these when I was 13 and depressed all the time. I'm 18 now, and, fortunately, life's been going well! Unfortunately, these poems are fairly cringe, so read at your own risk. Just some poems that I write when I'm in the poetic mood...
