I found her in her room.
Sitting on a chair
Bedecked in jewels
Topped with a crown
Draped in gold silks
She sat with her head down
Turned away
---
"Congrats"
I said
"You've done it
You've become a star"
"Look outside.
Everyone loves you
Everyone admires you.
Everything you've ever wanted
Is right within reach"
"Tell me,"
I said.
"How does it feel
to live your dream?"
---
She turned then
Caked with jewels
Weighed down by a crown
Swallowed in gold silks
"I hate it",
She whispered
Voice half choked
"I think I'm going to drown"

PoésieUPDATE: I wrote these when I was 13 and depressed all the time. I'm 18 now, and, fortunately, life's been going well! Unfortunately, these poems are fairly cringe, so read at your own risk. Just some poems that I write when I'm in the poetic mood...
