You gotta be strong, darling
People here will crush you.
Punches turn to snide remarks
Giggles and rumors in dark corners
You gotta be tough, darling
Fight back with low blows
Hold your head up high
Pretend you're made of stone.
You gotta be cold, darling
Don't let your feelings get in the way
Don't let the tears fall
Don't care about anyone.
You gotta be brave, darling
It's everyone for themselves out here
You learn from a very early age
Trust is foolish
Love is a myth
Kindness is a lie
Acceptance never was
---
Hate is our reality
Fear is our anthem
Disgust is our response
Manipulation is the only option
Other then war
So very early on
You gotta make a choice
--------
Do you fall in the dark with the rest of us?
Or do you chose to live a lie?
