Phil: Hey Dan wanna go out for coffee in a bit?

Dan: Yeah sure, where and when?

Phil: Starbucks in the square? At 1:00

Dan: Sounds good, see you then :)

Dan smiled to himself as he set his phone down, and got ready to meet Phil for coffee in an hour.

Meanwhile

"Hey Pey?" Phil called to his girlfriend, who was putting on makeup, even though she wasn't going anywhere, and didn't really need it.

"What?" She asked. Peyton wasn't the nicest person, she always had an attitude, and god forbid you argue with her or don't give her her way. Most girlfriends would answer with a
'yeah?' or a 'yes?', both of which sounded more polite than the way she responded to Phil, but Phil didn't mind it.

Peyton really didn't deserve a man like Phil, but he didn't know it.

He decided to ignore the fact that Peyton made him feel like shit, whether she meant to or not.

He ignored the sadness and darkness that resided in the pit of his stomach.

He ignored how tired he made her.

He ignored how he was sad, more like blue, that he couldn't be with someone who loved him for who he is.

And most importantly, he ignored that Dan was that person.

He ignored that he knew that Dan would love him, not for the money he had, but for him.

He was blind to it, because Peyton was blocking his sight.
