Chapter 58

Harry's POV

*Night that Niall was at the Bar and Harry took Karleigh home*

From my bedroom I can hear the apartment door slam and I know Niall is home. I glance over at my clock to see that it is 4:30 in the morning. What is wrong with this dipshit?

I bound down the stairs, to catch him in time before he goes to his room. From his appearance I can tell he is outrageously drunk, and I stand in front of him to prevent him from walking away.

My arms fold across my chest menacingly and Niall raises his brows at me.

"You're drunk." I state and Niall laughs.

"I saw your little girlfriend down at the bar, jeez Harry you've really fucked with that girl's head." Niall sneers at me with a smug grin on his face. I fight the urge to punch him, and instead I clench my fists tightly.

"She told me that you kissed her." I growl at him.

"Yeah, well you kissed Mandy so I guess it's even, huh Harry?" Niall bitterly laughs in my face and I'm getting angrier by the moment.

"Actually I guess it isn't even considering Karleigh is a much better kisser than Mandy. I bet she didn't tell you that she kissed me back." Niall spits through his teeth.

I can't stop myself from shoving him, he stumbles backwards and falls to the floor. His balance is poor due to his intake of alcohol. When he stands to his feet, he tries to swing at me, but I easily duck out of the way of his slow movements. With my balled fist I punch him dead in the jaw and I hear a loud cracking sound with the contact of my fist.

Niall grabs his jaw tightly before swearing at me and stomping off to his room.

Frustration is still coursing through me at the thought of Niall kissing her the way I do. Karleigh's face appears in my mind and I remember the look of hurt on her face when I told her I loved her, and the feeling of hurt in my heart when she didn't say the words back.

Does she not love me? She made it clear she didn't want me there.

Majority of the day I spend laying in my bed debating on whether or not I should call Karleigh. I pick up my phone but I know I cannot call her, so instead I call someone else.

The phone rings for quite some time and just as I'm about to hang up, Gemma answers.

"Harry?" Gemma says.

"Hey Gem."

"What's wrong?" Her voice is tainted with concern.

"I love her, Gem."

"What's the problem here?" I can almost here her smiling through the phone.

"I kissed somebody else..." I confess. Gemma sucks in a shocked breath and I sigh. "What the hell Harry?" She snaps at me.

"I thought you said you loved her?" She demands. "I do! I didn't kiss the other girl willingly. Just tell me what I need to do Gemma." I plead with my big sister.

She lets out a long sigh, "Well she's gonna need some space for a while. You really messed this up Harry." She tells me in a slow voice.

"Give her some time, if she loves you back, she'll come around." She promises me and sigh again. "Thanks Gem." I say and hang up.

Karleigh's POV

Aunt Jocelyn led the way home from the parking lot of Tanner's Bar and Pub, after picking up my car. I followed a short distance behind her, my anger levels spiking occasionally at the thought of Mandy.

Tears blur my vision as I now have an actual face to imagine Harry kissing. By the time I pull into Aunt Jocelyn's driveway, I'm nauseated.

Aunt Jocelyn is already inside of the house but I can't bring myself to go in there and face both, her and my mother.

A decision enters my mind and I head towards the old, familiar cemetery that I've grown accustomed to.

When I park the car in my usual grassy spot, I climb out of the car and trot up the hill to the tree I once say at with Harry. From my high vantage point, I looked down at all of the graves.

"God?" I call out, looking at the blue sky. "I'm ready to die now, I'm ready to call it quits." I speak aloud. My arms cross my chest and I stare up at the sky sadly.

"Quitters never win." A deep voice says, startling me and making me look around in confusion.

For a moment, I wait, hoping that maybe I just imagined that voice. Not able to help myself, I speak again. "Well then w-what would you recommend?" I ask the mysterious voice.

"Hmm, that's tough to decide." The deep voice answers again.

I scoff in disbelief and look around at my surroundings.

"Holy fucking shit, I'm going insane." I ponder out loud.

"No, maybe blind, but not insane." The voice tells me, with a slight chuckle.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I question. Just as the words leave my mouth, a lean figured, golden haired boy steps out from the other side of the thick tree trunk.

We stare into each other's eyes for a moment, until I blink, snapping myself back to reality. I stumble to stand to my feet, and the boy watches my clumsy movements.

"I know you." The golden haired boy tells me as he takes in my appearance. I raise a skeptical eyebrow at him.

"Have we met?" I ask. He purses his soft looking lips, and nods slowly. "Yes, we have." He tells me, certain of himself.

"How so?" I think he has me mixed up with someone else.

"You are the girl that Styles brought with him to the club Zayn was deejaying at." He says while giving me a charming smile. My head cocks to the side, and I take in his features more thoroughly.

He's definitely familiar, but I can't exactly pinpoint him. "I'm Karleigh," I freshen his memory.

He nods, still smiling. "I'm Marcus."
