Chapter 7
Harry's POV
God, I hope she likes aquariums. Karleigh practically drags me inside the aquarium and a younger guy greets us at the door. "Tickets?" He says in a cool voice. Karleigh turns to me and I dig out my wallet to find our tickets. While I'm doing this, I happen to notice the worker gawking at Karleigh as she's faced away from him. Finally I find the tickets and I clear my throat so this ignorant douche bag will stop staring at my date. His eyes rip away from her body and his stare meets mine. I cock an eyebrow at him and he immediately flushes, knowing he was caught in the act. My arm extends towards him and he takes the tickets, scanning them and then returning them back to us. "Enjoy your time at the Dallas World Aquarium." The guy says in a rather shaky voice. Of course Karleigh is oblivious to the entire exchange.
Another worker points us in the direction of a long, narrow tunnel. Hand in hand we trail through the long path way, and to my surprise its surrounded by glass. A giant tank is built around the tunnel and we can see numerous sharks swimming around us as we walk along the path. To my right, Karleigh is trying to maintain her bad girl reputation, but I can see that internally she's bursting with excitement.
"So are you liking the aquarium?" I ask her, attempting to mask my nervousness.
She beams at me and my heart thumps loudly in my ears. "Yeah, I do. My dad used to take me to aquariums all the time when I was younger."
"Well now you can tell him about this experience." I proudly say, as I decide I've chosen a good place.
Karleigh's face scrunches up reflecting an emotion I'm unsure of. Anger maybe? Sadness? Hatred? Weakness? I'm not sure. She turns to face away from me and stares deeply into the tank window. Something tells me that she's looking for more than just fish, and I'm not quite sure what to say to her right now. I take a step closer to her and rest my hand on the small of her back, but she flinches away from my touch. Quickly, I withdraw my hand and let it drop down by my side. Karleigh continues on walking down the path and were led to an area with tons of tanks, she immediately walks towards the octopus.
"Beautiful." She murmurs in awe as she ogles the majestic creature. My eyes are stuck to her though, I can't manage to tear my eyes away from her to observe the octopus. How ironic, that she believes this octopus that she's staring at is 'beautiful' and that's exactly the word I would use to describe her. But Karleigh and the octopus surely cannot be the same type of beautiful.
"Stop staring..." She says without looking at me and I laugh. She turns to look at me. "What's funny?" Her voice seems curious and I shrug. "Nothing humorous, I was just... thinking." I tell her her blue eyes captivating mine. My entire being felt frozen, my muscles couldn't move. Our eyes stayed locked on each other and we both slowly, and gradually moved inwards. I paused about an inch away from her lips, and her eyes looked down at my mouth. My tongue darted out, wetting my lips as I thought about kissing hers. She took her bottom lip between her teeth and we both continued moving closer together.
"Whoooooaaaaa!!!" A little boy screamed as he darted between mine and Karleigh's legs, to get to the octopus tank. Karleigh bolted away from me, her cheeks burning a warm pink color.
"We should get going, I should be getting home soon anyways..." Karleigh suggests. I glance down at my watch and realize we'd already been here for an hour and a half. Wow, we should go.

The car jerks to a stop and Karleigh's movements are slow as she unfastens her seatbelt. My palms are clammy with sweat and I rub them against my jeans in attempt to dry them.
"Tonight was, really fun. Thank you." Karleigh says with a shy smile.
"Maybe we could do this again sometime, I enjoyed your company." I answer a cocky grin appearing on my lips. As Karleigh climbed out of the car she glanced back at me from of her shoulder.
"Goodnight Harry." She said as she winked. The car idled in her driveway as I watched her enter her house. My thoughts were clouded by Karleigh as I drove home. My fascination with this girl was still confusing to me, and I already can't wait until the next time I see her.
