Chapter 66

Harry's POV

"Harry, we're so sorry but the tests are quite time consuming and we're going to have to start now in order to stay on schedule." The nurse informs me and I agree with a pathetic nod.

Karleigh's twenty minutes late, I've texted and called her none of which she answered to. She told me last night that she had an errand to run, but I didn't realize it was going to put her behind schedule so much.

Rising to my feet, I follow the short nurse into a narrow hallway that leads to a small room. The patient bed that is pressed against the wall, awaits me and I gently sit on the edge.

"I'll be back shortly." She nurse says and I nod, not wanting to speak.

Karleigh's POV

Shit.

I'm late and my foot is heavy on the gas pedal as I fly down the streets of Dallas to DCTC. The fucking bitch at the college did this to me, otherwise I would've been on perfect timing.

*Flashback to the college*

"I was wondering where I could turn in my application?" I ask the orange-skinned lady with the teased, poofy, hair. Her eyes were rimmed with thick eyeliner lines that were noticeably uneven. Her creepy eyes flicked up to my face from her computer moniter, with only the emotion of boredom.

"For which semester?" She asks, a strong northern accent tinting her voice as she watches the computer screen.

"Uh, the fall semester." I state. Her ugly eyes look up at me slowly and she smacks loudly on her gum.

"Little late, don't ya think?" Her obvious statement annoys me and I roll my eyes.

"No shit, it's late." I snap at her and she remains silent. "Anyways, where can I hand it in?" I add, trying to sound more polite.

Her pouty lips barely part as she blows out a large bubble with the gum she's chewing. The bubble bursts, making a loud snapping sound and she obnoxiously smacks the gums between her teeth.

"Just set it in the tray right there on the end of the counter, I'll have someone review it." She tells me as she chews on her gum.

I shift towards the tray and sit my manilla folder with my transcripts down inside of it. I can't help but glare as the useless jersey girl that is sitting before me.

Her eyes flicker up from her computer screen, and she raises her drawn on eyebrows at me. "Anything else?" She sighs, annoyed.

"Shouldn't I be talking to someone? A councilor or someone? I ask her in rude tone, annoyed with her shitty assistance.

She looks over at the large clock hanging on the wall and snaps another bubble with her gum. When she looks back over at me she gives me a generic smile.

"You'll have to come back another day, all of the administrators are on their lunch break and won't be back for another hour..." She smirks and I prevent myself from leaning across the counter and punching her.

"A fucking hour?" The words spill off of my tongue without thought. Another woman nearby turns, wide eyed, to gape at my fowl language.

"You could wait..." Jersey-girl suggests and I cross my arms across my chest.

"No, no I can't fucking wait I have to be somewhere in twenty minutes and I'm already running behind." I snarl at her.

The poor jersey-girl cowers into her chair at my harsh tone and crucial glare.
