Chapter 60

Harry's POV

It's been four days since I've heard a word from Karleigh and I'm trying to be patient, wait for her to make the first move like Gemma suggested, but I'm getting anxious. Does she not want this to work out? What if Gemma's wrong, what if she won't want to work things out.

Niall's been avoiding me all week since the incidents. He's stopped by twice, but only to get his clothes and he hasn't so much as even glanced in my direction.

I sigh and I pad out to my car in the parking lot, I really don't want to go to the doctor. Honestly I'm getting really sick and tired of all of their ideas.

As I slide into the driver seat of my car, my phone rings from the back pocket of my jeans. For a moment I debate on whether or not I want to answer but curiosity gets the best of me and I yank the device out of my jeans. Disappointment is clear on my face as I read Zayn's name on my screen.

I answer his call, only because I already took my phone out of my jeans.

"Yeah?" I say into the reciever.

"Hey mate, what are you up to?" Zayn nosily asks.

"On my way to the treatment center." I tell him.

"Oh...bad time?"

"No no, it's fine. What's up?" I reassure him.

"What's going on between you and Karleigh?" He questions and I flinch at the mention of her name.

"What makes you ask that?" Niall probably told him everything that happened, which bothers me because I've never liked people being in my business. But this isn't just anybody, this is Zayn.

"I saw her last night getting ice cream with, well, she was with Marcus..." His words trail off.

"Marcus?" My hearing must be going bad.

"Yeah Marcus, our Marcus. As in Marcus Lottman." He clarifies. I shake my head even though he can't see me. I'm not even quite sure what to say to him.

"Yeah I gotta go, I just got to the treatment center." I tell him, eager to get off the phone. I don't even wait for him to reply I just disconnect the line.

As I climb out of the car, I leave my phone in the seat and lock the door to my car.

Karleigh's POV

"I'll see you soon baby girl." My mom says softly as she holds me tightly in her arms.

"You wouldn't have to say goodbye if you'd let me leave with you." I grumble, still upset that she won't let me go back to Atlanta with her.

She smiles and shrugs and unwraps her arms.

"Oh, I never got to ask you about that hickey." My mom says, gesturing to my neck. Instantly I flush and glare at her.

"Catherine." I snap at her jokingly and she laughs.

"Alright Karleigh, I'll be back in about two hours." Aunt Jocelyn promises me and I nod and walk back to my room.

I hear the front door slam and I know they've left. My bed isn't as welcoming as it usually is and the room has a chilly feeling to it.

Without stopping myself I grab my cellphone and dial Harry's number. It rings and rings and my heart starts to race. The call goes to voicemail, and I sigh and hang up not wanting to leave a message.

Out of annoyance I redial his number and call again, only to receive his voicemail once again.

He'll call back, I reassure myself as I lay down with my phone on my chest. Before I know it, I'm drifting off into a sleep like state.
