Chapter 76
Harry's POV
Around five a.m. I wake for no given reason. Karleigh's body is still draped around me, her head resting on my chest. The longer I lay here awake at the break of dawn, I start to realize that I subconsciously woke myself up.
I have a decision to make. Stay here until the morning with Karleigh, or leave before she wakes. Regardless of my decision, we'll have to go our seperate ways. Karleigh has and flight to catch today and I'm not strong enough to watch her walk away, even though I'm the one who pushed her in that direction. Everything in me is trying to find logical reasons for why I should stay, but all of the logic lies in me leaving.
With slow movements, I move out from beneath Karleigh and place a pillow in my spot so she doesn't notice my absence. Her arms automatically wrap around the pillow, thinking that it's me and my heart swells. The motel room is cool and I'm all too aware that I'm shirtless, considering I gave Karleigh my shirt last night.
I grab the flimsy notepad that the motel room provides, and scribbled a short and simple note down for Karleigh to wake up to. My shoes are by the door and I quickly slide my feet into them before stepping out into the hall, closing Karleigh's room door behind me. My pace is slow as I walk out to my car, trying to find any reason at all for me to turn around and go back to her room.
No valid reasons come to mind, and I get into my car, driving back to my apartment without a shirt on.

Karleigh's POV
The motel room is fairly dim, even though it's almost nine a.m. and I stand to my feet, opening the curtains. My eyes skim the room in search for...Harry but when I see no sign of him I sigh. I should've known it was another one of those fucking dreams that I've been having lately.
An annoying vibrating sound travels throughout the room and I search around for my cell phone. On the small wooden desk, I notice my glowing cell phone and I look down at the caller ID. No surprise that it's Aunt Jocelyn, probably calling to ask me twenty questions. Where I stayed last night, if I'm really going back to Georgia, what about this and that and blah blah blah.
At this point I'm much more interested in the folded piece of paper that's under my cell phone. Sliding my phone off of the paper, I unfold it and bring it to my face so I can read it.
My heart picks up when I recognize Harry's handwriting.
'Told you it wasn't a dream. The shirt suits you. ~Harry'
The realization that Harry being here last night was real, hits me as hard as a freight train. Looking down at the baggy white t-shirt that covers my body I frown. Clearly this doesn't change anything between the two of us, he went out of his way to leave before I woke, probably repulsed by the idea of being near me any longer.
Wrapping my fingers along the hem of Harry's t-shirt, I lift it to my face breathing in his velvety scent. Anger boils throughout me as I struggle to remember everything we talked about last night. Due to my drunken state last night, my last encounter with Harry is foggy and unreliable.
All I feel in this moment is bittersweet sadness. Bitter because this changes nothing, and Harry still doesn't love me anymore. Sweet because I'm catching a flight back home to Atlanta in less than two hours.
With that last thought, I dig through one on my bags and pull out my Juicy Couture sweatpants and hoodie. I pull Harry's shirt off from over my head and neatly fold it, placing it into my bag.
Just as I'm in the process of tugging on my Juicy sweatpants, I notice the rags wrapped around my thighs. Flashes of last night flicker through my head, reminding me of how I tried to cut my thighs. Gently, I untie the tightly bound rags and drop them to the floor. The cuts on my thighs are pink and swollen, but they're no longer bleeding. I brush my finger along one of the cuts, and wince slightly when I feel the slight sting.
