Chapter 16
Karleigh's POV
All I can hear is the rapid thumping of my heart in my ears. Harry's warm hand is wrapped around mine as he leads me upstairs to his room. His bedroom door creaks open and I walk towards his bed and sit down. Harry doesn't bother turning on his bedroom light, and my eyes quickly adjust to the darkness.
Harry's back is facing me as he rummages through his dresser drawers. Beads of sweat are forming on my palms and my heart rate is unbelievably fast. I take a deep breath trying to relax myself as Harry makes his way back over to the bed with a wad of something in his arms. My mind is still racing from the events that took place earlier.
"Here." Harry says, while extending his arms towards me, and only now do I realize that he's holding clothes.
"Um, thanks?" I answer partly confused, as I accept the clothes from him. My fingers wrap around the bottom of my shirt and I yank it over the top of my head, replacing it with the shirt Harry gave me. His shirt is baggy and wrinkled, but it smells amazing so I don't complain. The shorts Harry handed me, appear to be boxers but I make no comment as I lay back and lift my hips off of the bed in order to take my shorts off and slip into Harry's. I avoid looking in Harry's direction, but I can feel his green orbs glued to my every movement. Once I'm changed, Harry climbs back into his bed with me.
Our bodies are much closer this time and Harry wraps one his arms around my stomach. I open my mouth to ask him a brief question, but sleep consumes me before I have the chance.

Light shines into the room and I grimace at the intensity of the sunlight this early in the morning. My back arches off of the mattress as I stretch out my stiff movements from sleeping. I turn my head to the right and Harry's green eyes are taking in my every movement.
"What?" I ask with a slight giggle, and he smiles.
"Nothing.." He lies.
"Liar," I accuse in a teasing voice, a smirk playing on the corners of my lips.
"You hungry?" He changes the subject and I nod.
Harry stands up from the bed and I replicate his actions. Harry starts walking towards his door and I stand behind him, wrapping my arms around his waist from behind and resting my cheek against his back.
"What are you doing?" I can hear the smile in his voice.
"Waiting for you to walk downstairs." I say casually and I hear him give a faint chuckle.
Harry walks downstairs and I keep my arms wrapped around his waist.
A series of ooh's and aah's are heard and I drop my arms from Harry's waist as I realize we aren't alone in his apartment. A group of guys stare and Harry and I as we stand at the bottom of the staircase. Niall and two other guys who I don't recognize are smirking at us and I feel uncomfortable under their scrutinizing stares.
"Harry, who is this lovely young lady?" The brown haired boy with light eyes asks in a teasing tone.
"I'm Karleigh." I say blatantly, as if he hadn't just asked Harry about me even though I was standing right here.
"Lovely name, I'm Louis a good friend of Harry and Niall." The boy who's name I discover to be Louis says.
"Actually, it's a quite shitty name, but if you like it thanks..." I mumble. Harry laughs beside me, and I know he's thinking about the numerous times when I refused to tell him my name because I claimed it was lousy.
"So what have you two been up to, that brings Karleigh downstairs in your clothes Harry?" Niall teases, as he elbows in the ribs, both of them chuckling. The other boy that's sitting on the couch isn't paying any mind to them, and I come to the conclusion that he's my favorite so far.
My eyes scan over the clothes that I'm wearing and I reflect back on how Harry leant me his clothes... his boxer shorts.
"Don't be so immature." I dismiss them with a roll of my eyes and they laugh again, but drop it.
Harry and I walk into the kitchen and I lean against the counter as Harry prepares something for the two of us to eat. I assume he's going to cook, that is, until he pulls out two bowls and a variety of cereals. For some reason I find this humorous, but I grab a box of Wheaties and pour myself a bowl.
"So Karleigh, Harry, do you have plans tonight?" Louis questions and I look at Harry for a response.
"Not that I know of." Harry replies.
"Why don't you bring Karleigh up to the nightclub, Zayn's deejaying and asked us to invite loads of people." Louis tells Harry, but Harry seems skeptical. Harry brings his eyes back to mine, "You want to go to a nightclub?" He asks and I smile widely and nod.
" Yeah, we'll come Lou." Harry says and I can hear Louis and Niall clapping and cheering from the living room. I roll my eyes as I put a spoonful of Wheaties into my mouth. Harry leaves me alone in the kitchen to talk to the boys about last night's football game in the living room. I don't mind. With my spoon, I push the remainder of my cereal around in my bowl.
I'm vaguely aware of someone entering the kitchen, but I'm too consumed in my cereal to look up. My spoon makes a scraping sound against the side of the bowl, and a throat clears from the doorway of the kitchen. I glance up and Harry's leaning against the doorframe of the kitchen, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"What...?" I ask timidly. Harry's facial expression is unreadable.
"Uh, nothing." He lies and I roll my eyes at him. He steps closer to me, and reaches for my empty cereal bowl, placing it in the sink. Mentally I laugh to myself at his tidiness. "C'mon." He says and heads off to his bedroom, I follow closely behind. As I'm making my way up the stairs, Louis calls out to me.
"Nice meeting you Karleigh, see ya tonight."
