You were assisted into the hospital wing by one of the students that had happened to be in the library when the incident occurred. You weren't very great with magic yet, and certainly wasn't prepared in the moment to stop it from happening.

As the student hauled you into the room, Madam Pomfrey made her way over to the two of you. She took over from the student, dismissing and thanking them so that she could help you over to a bed.

"What happened?" She asked.

"I fell over and I can't put pressure on my foot," you said simply.

You weren't prepared to divulge the fact that you fell due to simple stupidity due to pins and needles in your leg. Your ankle and leg hurt like a bitch, so although you did tell everyone there you would be fine to just go to your common room, but you weren't given much of a choice but to go to the infirmary.

She moved your ankle a bit before she excused herself to get you something that could help your pain.

Now being left alone you looked around the room. You'd never been to the hospital wing before, which was surprising due to how clumsy you could be. As you looked around you noticed someone sat on the bed next to you.

You'd never spoken to him before, but you knew he was a Gryffindor in your year, Remus Lupin. He looked concerned at you. You weren't sure why though. He was in a bigger mess than you were. Remus winced every time he moved on his bed, there were visible cuts across his face and arms, and you could only imagine that similar injuries everywhere else.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I could ask you the same. What happened to you? Did someone attack you?" You questioned.

He seemed taken back by your words, hesitant to respond. "Something like that."

"I'm sorry."

You had no reason to be sorry, but you were British and that made you have an unnecessary need to apologise for everything no matter if you were to blame or not.

"You're in my potions class aren't you?" He asked.

"Yeah. I'm Y/N," you stated leaning awkwardly across the large gap to stick your hand out for him to shake.

As he shook your hand, "Remus."

"How long have you been in here?" You asked. "You missed class yesterday."

To think about it, he always missed class at least one day a month. You didn't know why and you knew it wasn't your place to ask him.

"A couple of days. Madam Pomfrey said I can go back to my dorm this afternoon," he shrugged, instantly regretting it due to the pain.

"Do you have the work you missed in class? I can help you if you'd like," you offered.

Straight away you wished you didn't say a thing as it probably sounded odd. You were strangers. It didn't matter if you had wanted to know him for a while seen as he probably didn't know you existed.

"Oh... thanks. James said he'd get the work for me but it'd be nice to have someone explain it to me," he smiled softly.

"Doesn't he explain them to you?"

"He tries. But he never tries in any classes, he just somehow gets good grades. When he attempts to explain things he has a way of belittling people and not exactly explaining things as he just expects them to know things."

Although you had also never spoken to James Potter, from the behaviour you'd seen in class you knew that that wasn't out of character for him.

"Well I've never taught anything before but I can try," you said in a light tone.

"Thank you."
