Your first relationship happened halfway through your fifth year – it wasn't expected nor was it something that everyone else expected.

Remus had been your friend for years, and then all of a sudden during fifth year he decided to ask you out and you said yes.

A year later the two of you were still together.

You were the couple that everyone wanted to be.

The ones that everyone knew would last because that was just the type of people you were.

However, during sixth year, Remus messed up and kissed a Gryffindor girl during a Quidditch celebration and he was somewhat drunk.

In revenge, at the same party, you went and kissed a Ravenclaw guy causing Remus to get insanely jealous.

After that night, the two of you were broken up.

Both of you messed up, but neither of you wanted to admit it.

It had been five months since then, and in that time, you had grown closer to Sirius as he had been one of the best friends you could've ever wanted in the shitty time of a break up.

Remus had been out on dates with the one and only Lily Evans, they started a couple of months after the two of you broke up and whilst you had kissed someone else – it hurt to see him going on to someone else so quickly.

You still spoke to Lily, you were her friend, but you rarely spoke to Remus. Not if you could help it.

Due to it being a weekend, you and Sirius were sat out at the black lake because it was a sunny day and you had managed to convince Sirius to get out and enjoy it.

"Y/N/N?" Sirius spoke up, breaking the comfortable silence.

You turned to him "Yes?" you questioned out of curiosity.

He nodded his head towards the school "Moony and Lils are over there."

You sighed "Let's go," you went to get up as you spoke but Sirius pulled you back down.

He shook his head at you "No. We're staying," he told you firmly.

Within a couple of minutes, Remus and Lily had reached where you and Sirius were sat.

Lily nodded her head over at Sirius, causing him to stand up and leave you sat down – "C'mon Lils. You promised you'd help me with my charms."

"I said I'd help-" the two of them had walked off before you got a chance to finish.

Remus sat down opposite you, fiddling with his fingers as he often did when he was uncomfortable.

"Hello."

He looked at you in surprise, clearly not having expected you to say anything, "Hi."

You wanted to roll your eyes at his lack of words, but you managed not to, "How have your dates been with Lily?" you quizzed – wanting to start some form of conversation with him.

"Nice thank you," he answered you simply "And yours with Padfoot?"

You shook your head "They haven't been dates."

He scoffed, crossing his arms, "Sure seemed like it," he countered sounding annoyed.

"Well they weren't Remus."

He scoffed once again "Because I'll believe that."

You rolled your eyes "Why are you bothered? You're with Lily."

He shrugged simply "Just looking out for you Y/N."

"Looking out for me? Oh yeah, just like you were when you kissed that Gryffindor girl," you stood up after having spoken.

Remus quickly matched your actions "Me? You were the one that kissed that Ravenclaw guy!"

"Only because you kissed someone else first!"

"And who's the child now then? Because it clearly isn't me," he spoke with annoyance in his tone.

You shook your head at him again "You were the one that was drunk Remus, you kissed someone else first," you told him "Yes, I shouldn't have kissed that Ravenclaw guy but I did – do I regret it? Yes. Did it hurt when you kissed someone else? Of course, it bloody did."

"Y/N-" he went to talk but you cut him off by beginning to walk away.

You turned around "You're with Lily. Be happy with her," you suggested with a weak smile "I loved you Remus. I really did – but we both made mistakes, and I doubt we can sort it out."

He reached out to grab your arm "Dammit Y/N. I did that because I wanted you to be jealous!" he exclaimed rather suddenly.

Your mouth dropped open out of surprise "You're kidding me. Does Lily know this? I swear Remus, if you hurt her-"

"I'm not going to. She knows," he stated to you "She's doing it to piss Prongs off."

"Even so Remus. Perhaps we can figure things out, but for now, I want to go back to my dorm."

"Let me walk you?"
