You moved in with your boyfriend Sirius straight from school. You had always planned to move in together, and you did as soon as you could, soon becoming engaged and growing your small family in a way he was far from impressed with.

Sure, Sirius was all up for you having kids, he made that extremely clear when he found out that James and Lily were expecting a child. He wanted your children to grow up friends with each other, but sadly for him, you had no plans to have children at the moment. You were busy starting your career, but soon enough you'd be happy to have children.

However your compromise was going out and buying a kitten, to his dismay. Ever since you'd bought the adorable fluff ball, he'd shown his clear distain towards the creature. He blamed it for everything, including and not limit to: the broken window (which Sirius himself broke); the reason James wouldn't visit one weekend (his wife was heavily pregnant and that finally knocked sense into him); why you didn't spend time with him and even blamed the poor thing for why he couldn't find his hairbrush.

Sometimes he was an irrational man.

Currently it was one of the moments you knew that he would hate the kitten even more for. Sirius was sitting on the sofa with you perched next to him, with his arms around you. Your legs were kicked out across the sofa, and your cat was sleeping across your legs.

Your fiancé hummed against your neck as he held you close in his arms.

"Let's go to bed," he muttered against your skin.

"Sirius, I can't," you said in a warning tone.

He moved his lips to run against your shoulder as his fingers ran across the exposed skin of your stomach from where he'd nudged your shirt up.

"If you don't want to... do anything," he whispered nudging his nose against the shell of your ear. "We can just cuddle."

You rolled your eyes at him, not that he could see you do so.

"It's that I don't want to love," you said softly resting a hand on top of his. "I mean I literally can't go up to the bedroom."

He paused for a moment, but you could feel him smile against your ear.

"Well we could just stay here?" He offered.

"I still don't think that will work," you stated.

His chest heaved as he let out a deep sigh.

"Why not?" he whined.

"Thomas O'Malley will get upset," you said turning your head showing him your coy smile.

"That bloody arsehole ruins everything," he frowned. "And you gave him a stupid name."

You mindlessly hit his shoulder, looking down at the little kitten curled up on your legs. You weren't willing to disturb him for anything, he was too adorable.

"Don't be cruel Sirius. He is sleeping. We have all the time in the world to do what you want, for once let the poor creature rest. It has to put up with your vile words all day and your unreasonable hatred," you commented.

"Why do we even have him? You spend all your time doting on him. What about my needs?" Sirius huffed.

"Shut up Sirius."

He grumbled something incoherent. He moved his hands leaning you forward so that he could shake your legs. Even though you fought against it, hitting his shoulder once more in annoyance, he still woke up the kitten.

Thomas O'Malley stood up and stretched out his little limbs before turning around to look at the two of you. He quickly padded up your legs, moving to the side so that he could walk onto the small area of Sirius' lap you weren't occupying. He rubbed his head against his chest beginning to purr.

Shuffling slightly you turned to look up at Sirius' face. You expected a look of disgust or annoyance, but he looked happy and in awe of the bundle of fur.

"Do you still think he's an arsehole?" You grinned.

"Fine. He's an adorable arsehole," he smiled in response.

You rolled your eyes at him. You knew that he couldn't have hated the cat.
