Although it had soon been a factor that Charlie had learnt was a bad idea, you had been left alone for the weekend. Whenever you were left alone something bad would happen, the worst was when your home spontaneously set on fire, you weren't sure how it happened but it had led to Charlie refusing to ever let you out of his sight. However Molly had asked for all of her children to come home for some family bonding time without spouses and grandchildren. Although she loved her children's other halves and her grandbabies, she hadn't had time alone with her children in too long, not with all of them there and it just being them.
You were fine with it though, but with what you had added to your home, you weren't sure if your husband would be as impressed.
When he pushed open the door, you made sure to hide the new addition in the small basket the creature had taken a liking to and formed a bed in, resting a pillow in front so that from the doorway it couldn't be seen.
"Wow. I can't believe the house is standing," Charlie called out with a laugh. You waited in the living room for the redhead to join you.
"How was your weekend?" You asked as he appeared in the room.
"It was great, but I missed you," he smiled pecking your lips. "So what damage have you done? Did you get someone to fix something or are you hiding a broken vase in the sock drawer again?"
You rolled your eyes at you husband.
"He who has little faith," you remarked.
"Sorry," he chuckled. "So is everything the same as I left it, or are you going to attempt to make me forget about it for a bit before revealing your misdemeanour just before I go to sleep?"
"That was one time," you commented.
"So?"
You smiled innocently at the redhead. For once you hadn't broken anything but there was something different, something very different about your home.
"We got a dragon," you grinned.
His face instantly dropped.
"What?"
"We have a pet dragon," you smiled, not wavering.
"Dragons aren't pets. You know that. We'll have to take it to the sanctuary," he sighed.
You jutted out your lower lip, pouting at him.
"But he's adorable Charlie. Can't I just show him to you before you make up your mind?" You said softly.
"Go on then. But we're taking him there tomorrow."
Your grin reappeared as you moved the pillow away picking up the little creature. Charlie's concerned expression instantly fell as he laughed at you and your new pet.
"Well isn't this a surprisingly fluffy and cat-like dragon?" He laughed taking the animal from you.
"Yes. Yes it is."
In his arms was a small kitten in a dragon costume. Even though you knew he would be hesitant to keep the animal, he would agree, it was too adorable to not allow it to stay. And anyway it the cat went, he was moving back in with his Mother.
