Remus Lupin- Morning (c)

The gentle breeze rustling the curtains, allowing bright streams of sunlight into the room, awoke you to the morning warmth. You weren't really a morning person, actually far from it; mornings made you contemplate homicide but today wasn't too bad. As you had gone to bed a bit earlier than usual and you were waking up from a lie in you weren't overly groggy, actually rather happy to see the sunshine leaking into your room, as you stayed covered in the cool covers of your bedding.

A lazy arm dropped over your middle, sliding you slightly across the mattress to lay closer to your husband Remus. He gave you a small smile, his eyes still slightly droopy from just waking up.

You shot him a warm smile, rolling over so that you were facing him able to lay closer to him. Remus leaned in gently pressing his lips to yours in a tired, ever so slightly sloppy kiss.

"Good morning," he whispered, allowing his forehead to rest against yours, bringing comfort to both of you in having each other held close to one another.

"Morning," you smiled up at him leaning up to press a gentle kiss to the tip of his nose.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked with a large yawn as he snuggled you closer to him.

Your head nodded sleepily. Although you had slept well and you actually weren't too tired, the fact that you were still in bed made your eyelids heavy and the desire to fall back to sleep became harder to fight. At least being in conversation with your husband, you were able to stay awake rather happily.

"I sleep well whenever you are here Remus. If you are laying by my side it means I do not need to worry about you off doing something dangerous or getting hurt," you said softly with a sympathetic smile.

It had become more frequent that he would have to be away from your bed for the night. You were used to the monthly late arrival he'd have due to the full moon, and you wouldn't have slept at all those nights, terrified for him, but it would allow you both to cuddle throughout the day. However recently you were both working closely with the order and it meant Remus would be sent away days at a time to help in areas you were not allowed to know about, leaving you alone in your large bed without him.

He gave you a solemn express, raising a hand to cup your cheek, apologising with his eyes.

"Soon the war will be over," he said softly. "And when it is, I won't have to leave ever again."

"I cannot wait for that day to come."
