You leant against the wall holding your book firmly in your hands so that you could attempt to read and block out the noises of your peers that filled the hallway waiting for the teacher to arrive to allow you all into the classroom. It wasn't that you hated everyone in your class, but the few whom you did despise outweighed the many you could tolerate, meaning focusing on the words in your book was pretty much the only way to keep any form of sanity.
Sadly, that sanity was soon pried from your hands no matter how much you wanted to cling onto it. The shrill screech of one of the boys in your class forced you to look up from your book to see the blond-haired boy that seemed to never go anywhere without his green clad entourage.
"Move you filthy mudblood," He hissed.
You cocked an eyebrow. Was he serious? You weren't even in the way. There was plenty of room for him to move past, however seen as he had his two friends either side of him, it wasn't possible for him to have them both there when walking past you. Rather than one of them walking behind the other two they wanted you to move.
"What's the magic word Malfoy? Did your manners go missing along with your charms?" You smiled sweetly trying to stay civil even if you actually wanted to break all of his fingers.
"Move."
"No that isn't the magic word," you stated. "Now if you don't mind, either be polite or move along."
He looked at his friends with a shocked expression, as though you had threatened his family's wellbeing.
"You can't talk to me like that," he said bitterly.
"Watch me Malfoy. I'm trying to read. I know you can't fathom what a syllable is, but I actually want to get somewhere in life without relying on my parent's money," you frowned attempting to go back to your reading.
He let out a gasp at the tone you used with him. No one else had ever spoken to him in such a way, generally having to respect him, in fear of what he or his family would do- honestly you couldn't give a shit.
"My father will hear about this!" He exclaimed.
Without even looking up from your book you muttered, "when are you going to realise that I don't care?"
"How dare you, you mu-"
You cut him off not caring for anything he had to say as there was no chance he was going to give this conversation any form of a purpose.
"Don't care."
