Of course, there were many things that you loved about Tonks but her optimism always stood out for you, as she never failed to make you smile or help alleviate any form of worry you had. She wasn't a constantly happy and cheery person, she had a terrible temper and she had no fear but to let anyone see it. However rarely had you ever seen her as sad or seemingly hopeless, and if you were to see her in such a state it couldn't possibly mean anything good, and it could only represent possibly the worst things happening.

Today was sadly one of these days. Tonks had been sat on the small sofa in your flat for what seemed to be over an hour. You hadn't put too much thought into it as you were reading, but when the minutes began to add up and you heard nothing coming from your girlfriend, you were beginning to get concerned.

You looked up from the page you were reading to see the purple haired woman that you loved, holding her head in her hands, silent.

"Tonks," You said softly but she didn't respond at all to you.

You attempted to call her name a few more times but to no avail. She was far too caught up in her own thoughts to notice that you were there and attempting to converse with her.

"Nymphadora," You stated firmly knowing how much she hated it.

Usually if you used her full name you would at least receive a glare of hatred and sometimes you would even have something thrown at you, but this time there was nothing. She didn't even flinch.

That's when you realised something seriously must be up.

You moved from your seat and made your way over to Tonks sitting down next to her resting a hand lightly onto her shoulder.

"Talk to me Love," you smiled softly. "What's wrong?"

She looked up and pushed her hair out of her face, attempting to give you a reassuring smile but you knew that it was fake.

"Nothing."

"Don't lie to me Tonks. What's wrong? I can't read your mind, so I can't help unless you give me something to work with," you said attempting to encourage her to talk with you.

"I don't know. It just is finally sinking in that we are relying on a kid. A bloody kid to save us all. I trust Harry, I really do, and I know he is capable of doing great and amazing things, but just to rely on him feels wrong. He is still a child, we are equally as responsible for taking his childhood away from him. And what are we going to have to show for destroying him? Nothing. We aren't going to be able to survive this. Not all of us. We are all going to have to face loss," she stated attempting to keep her emotions under control.

Instantly your arms wrapped around her small shoulders wanting to help comfort her but not really knowing how you were going to be able to do so.

"We are fighting for what is right. That is all we need to show for it. The truth lies within us, within the order and we are needed to fight for this, no matter how impossible it seems, how impossible it probably is. Harry is doing all he can and we can't let him down by giving up. Especially not you. Never had anyone ever seen Nymphadora freaking Tonks give up," you grinned doing your best to convince her that what you were doing was the right idea.

She shot you a playful glare. "What did we discuss about the N word?"

"Sorry Tonks."

"Thank you. Anyway... I want to fight, I want to stand up for what is right, but doesn't it concern you that there are so many kids that are being forced to grow up for this sake. It just doesn't feel fair," she sighed.

"Nothing is fair. But these kids growing up to quickly helps promise that so many children will have a life. So many innocent people won't be prosecuted. It's a small loss for a greater win," you shrugged.

She nodded her head softly pecking your cheek.
