"No stop cheating.",he laughed holding his hand's under yours again.

"I'm not cheating. You're being slow.",you said flipping yours over and hitting his.

"Awe",he laughed.

You were on his lap while he sat underneath you his back a against your bedroom wall. The sheets covered his legs up to his black basketball shorts that were at his knee.

You positioned your hands again and he watched your hands for a good ten seconds before he attempted to slap them with his own in which you quickly backed away.

You laughed and he threw his head on the wall.

"I give up."

"No. No okay one more.",you said smiling.

He glanced up at you. And sat up again putting his hands out.

He tried again and you pulled back quickly hitting his and poking his nose in the process.

"Ugh.",he giggled putting his hands over his eyes and dragging them down.

You sat grinning like the cheshire cat as he sat in his defeat of the fourth round.

"You suck.",he groaned putting his hands onto the duvet.

"You suck.",you said wrinkling your nose at him."You took a L"

"I did not take an L. Whatever that means."

"Yeah okay.",you said playfully rolling your eyes.

"Oh but hey I have a surprise for you."

"Awe really. You didn't have to get me anything."

"I know but its my girls birthday. And it's going to be our 4 year anniversary coming up."

"Awe.",you smiled.

You got off his lap and he got out of your bed and made his way to his book bag that rested near your door.

"Oh wait close your eyes no peeking."

You smiled closing your eyes and listening to his book bag zipper open and his footprints.

You felt him near you and waited for your freedom to look. You thought of things it could be. Perhaps a teddy bear or a watch. You didn't expect much seeming you were both still teens in Highschool working for minimum wage.

"Okay."

You opened your eyes with the smile still on your face.

"Oh my god.",you said your expression faltering.

He had a box in between his fingers while his head rested in the crevice of his arm. He was smiling softly looking at your reaction. In it was placed a promise ring. Rose gold with small diamond on top. Tears rose to your eyes and for a second you belived it was a joke.

"Is this a prank?",you asked looking up at him.

He smiled shaking his head. He grabbed your hand and slipped the ring onto your ring finger.

"No prank this- this all you. You and me for what I would hope to be a lot much longer than four years,because I refuse to believe it's just the fact that we see each other everyday by force keeping us together."

You grinned looking down at it. The foreign object on your finger.

"Would you do the impossible and reserve your heart for me?",he asked

"I promise.",you said giving a small  chortle through happy tears.

You brought him up by his neck kissing him.

"My future has never been so bright.",he smiled kissing you again.

"You practiced this haven't you?",you laughed.

"Yes. Yes I have."

I didn't get a promise ring on my birthday though. Just mozzarella sticks and hot wings. Then again which one is better...hmmm. List your birthday if its in october mine is Oct.2.
