It started off light. She was sleeping peacefully and it was ok. Then it began to rain harder. She stirred in her sleep finding comfort in the sounds. That was until she felt the ground shake and the walls fall as the sound and feeling of heavy thunder surrounded her. She sat up and watched as purple streaks flew across the sky and she heard it again. The pug beneath her scrambled to her arms in which she held for comfort until the next one came larger and louder that made her heart stop and her breath hitch in her throat
She saw the shadow of a tree on her walls and scared she picked the covers off of her small body and without fear of the sudden dark ran to the double doors at the end of the hall. She was quickly followed by the pug.
Together they scrambled into the parents room where she shook her fathers arm.
"Daddy.",she whispered.
He didn't budge.
"Daddy.",she shook.
His eye flew open a sudden jolt to see a small nose and deep brown eyes the shade of his wife's. He closed them again and hummed questionably.
That's when another flash if purple light went off and the house vibrated as the sounds of thunder ran through the sky. She whimpered and started to climb him using his arms to lift herself onto his back.
She made her way to the middle and you turned around hugging her as well as Calum. The sound of rain and the warmth of her parents made the thunder seem a lot quieter some how. The pug laid on the foot of the bed softly snoring as the rain poured.
"Good night Sophie.",he murmured as she slowly drifted to sleep.
