Tears fell from your eyes making his seem like blurry grey dots in front of yours. He ran his finger over your bottom lip and gave a small smile. He wanted to kiss you but he couldn't. He would have to wait to see you again. Alone and in your pride. He would have to leave the small town of Pierston and come back when all had forgot about how he made a storm out of you.

Before him you'd been obedient. He told you never to fear what somebody else's image of yourself would be. He made you swear that you'd never let someone else make you do something. He saw your heart covered in flames when he laid next to you. He didn't want you to represent yourself as anything less.

But he was sneaking out every night to see you and causing havoc in others eyes, especially his schools discipline rules. He was being sent back home to christian school where his parents hoped he would forget about the girl of colour. The girl who made him fight for something other than mischief.

he pulled you close his lips grazing over yours before he was pulled away by his arm and being dragged to his flight.  He looked back at you tears filling his eyes as reality of never seeing you set in. He saw you from the door as you walked away and you tried not to look back.

She stayed home. Her obedience brought back after they convinced her that he wasn't coming back. That he never really cared. It took your heart longer than your brain but you were content with the pain.

Elementary,High School, and College you stayed for all three. Michael promised you a small loft in New York. You'd get coffee every morning and he would study with you at night. He said you would get older and then you'd drink margaritas with your closest friends. He would take the main road home from the hospital when your newborn was in the backseat to avoid accidents.

Those were things you cried about when you've noticed he's said those things laying the same bed you were now.

December 12. You had candles lit in the spirit of the holidays as you desperately tried to answer number 46 on your self made packet. your parents were at a Christmas party and you were home alone with you favourite playlist on in the back. You were talking to yourself and then heard a knock in front of you. You screamed and squinted at your rooftop. You didn't see anything and grabbed a pair of scissors from your desk walking to the window where you opened it. A very basic thing to do. You saw him sitting at the edge of your rooftop. He had dirty blonde hair and a blue hoodie on. Your heart was beating.

You opened your mouth and your eyes watered at the cold wind blowing in your face.

You were stuttering quietly, to flabbergasted to really say anything.

"I'll never forgive you for staying in this deadbeat town."he said with a red nose squinting at the lamp post twenty feet below him. He once kissed you there.

There was a silence where you realized his voice.

You dropped  your scissors and immediately climbed out the window where you wrapped your arms around him from behind.  He turned around hugging you back and you had teary eyes but they never fell. He kissed your cheeks and neck when his thumb touched your lip and then his lips grazed yours finishing the kiss he never could.

"I'm sorry.",he said searching your eyes for any sign of anger, but all you had was longingness.

To see him, hear him again was all you needed. Just to see him as a whole in all of his glory.

"Don't apologize. Not yet."

Teary eyes and a smile,he kissed you again as many times as he needed to forget.
