Race

Right, fuck it, I wish this didn't get me so riled up but it does.

That there, the picture attached to this chapter/part/poem/rant/whatever the fuck this is, that is the indisputable definition of racism.

There is no such thing as reverse racism (racism toward white people) it is all just a form of racism. No where in that definition does it state that it cannot be toward white people either.

So get your heads out your arses and actually start looking for equality rather than someone else to blame.

The reason I stand by #alllivesmatter rather #blacklivesmatter, is because you can't expect equality when you're only standing up for one minority. All lives matter isn't me claiming it for white people, no I'm claiming it for the other ethnic minorities too, for those in Islamic countries who are killed daily, for Hispanics that are shot by the police too for every ethnic minority who feels their life is not valued based on the colour of their skin. Racism isn't just about black people.

And it gets me so annoyed when I (as a white person) try and stand with you on black lives matter or all lives matter and you reject my support because I 'don't know what it's like to be oppressed'. How do you expect equality when you're rejecting the people trying to achieve that too. You can't say 'we want equality' then when someone of the ethnic group you're trying to gain equality with offers to support you, turn around and say 'You can't support me, you don't know what it's like'.

And can we stop treating it like white people are the only privileged people and that all white people are privileged. Assumptions like that are what cause these kinds of spats.

I get it, if you aren't white you're more likely to have racial comments made against you. But guess what, if you're reading this, you have access to the Internet, to electronic devices, to an education, to drinking water, to electricity and power, that is privilege. You cannot say you are not privileged in some way, when you have an education, when you have a home to go to, when you have good to eat and water to drink, they are privileges. So stop acting as if you are one of the people living in the slums with nothing, not even clean water. I have no problem with sympathy, but you clearly have something, so maybe instead of complaining you should be grateful, that goes for everyone of every race.

And guess what, I have seen people who are of ethnic minorities in much better places than me, do I hate them for their privilege? No. So why is this such a big issue.

Every time you press the idea of reverse racism, or white privilege, or how black lives matter is more important than all lives matter, you are just deepening that racial divide, driving a wedge into a crack you're hoping to mend.

When you assume someone doesn't know what is like to be oppressed because they're white, when you have no idea what situation they're in, you're as bad as the people who assumed that all black people were no more evolved than apes, no better than the people who refuse to give girls an education just because they're girls, no matter their potential.

And before you bring slavery into the matter just remember this, the white people had slaves because the black people and the Asian people and the other minorities sold their own people to them.

Remember that some people are oppressed within their own culture, Islam is a prime example. It's not just white people oppressing.

You can't complain about the inequality then reject those who try to bridge it.

If you want equality, start looking for equality rather than someone to blame.

Hate me if you want, call me some white privileged bitch who has no clue what she is on about, but I am sick and tired of watching the world tear itself apart. I am done with watching good causes be the reasons for more and worse fights because people can't be bothered to let go of their own pride long enough to see what might actually help.

Not everyone is what you think of them based on their skin colour whether that be Asian, Black, Hispanic, White or anything else for that matter. And until you can learn to accept that the only way you will get equality is by actually being equals, I am sorry for what a hateful world you must live in.

And one of the most disheartening things is, I could scream my lungs out about this all day, and I would have a lot of white support from the bigots I'm trying to prove wrong and mostly everyone else would ignore me because they don't like what I'm saying. And my argument and my breath would be wasted because I am white, But if I were black or Asian or Arab or Hispanic or whatever, people would hear me.

Because apparently the worst thing I can do to the cause for racial equality, is be a white person actually wanting to help.
