Change has never sat well with me. And I'm not talking small changes to everyday routine, or even medium change such as something getting a new design. But big change I'm not comfortable with.

Big change rarely happens around me, I've very rarely had to deal with life changing events and so for me change is rare and unsettling.

And the thing is I'm about to go through one of the biggest changes of my life, even bigger than the last dramatic change.

And I wasn't afraid. Until now. Until it was tomorrow. Tomorrow everything changes and I'm elated and curious and terrified and upset.

There are two types of change; good change and bad change. Good change is when something changes to put you in a better situation and bad change is where it puts you in a worse situation, whether that is physically, mentally or emotionally.

And until both the change and the settling period are complete, you won't know which it is, and by then it's often too late to do anything about it.

This can make things difficult. If it is a change you are controlling, you have to trust both logic and your gut. But when the change is out of your control, these are some of the most suspenseful moments of your lives and depending on the outcome, can have immense emotional impact.

Part of change is learning to accept it and the fact that no matter what you do change is going to happen.

Throughout our lives many things change, where we live, what school we go to, who is around us, what we do, us ourselves.

There is one thing I have learnt, no matter how much change you go through, it will almost always be scary, and that's okay. And sometimes it will be great, and these changes will benefit you no end.

But saying goodbye was always going to hurt.
