Waking up with eyes itchy and swollen from the previous day's cheap liner and latex glue. Irritated skin from rough brushing and blending, then rough removal.
Eczema speckles and dry skin patches, worked endlessly to be removed, for a flawless smooth canvas. Lotions and potions to deal with all imbalances, too dry, too oily, too flawed, too human.
Ribs aching from 100 sit ups, thighs burning with every step. Sore, cracked, blistered feet from swapping between running and heels.
Ibuprofen and paracetamol on 2 hour rotations to keep the pain at bay. Mental fatigue from keeping track of food and drinks daily.
Bank account empty from the constant purchase of new fashion fads, makeup must-haves or remedies for various things. Schedule packed, between work or school, exercise, set eating times and half an hour for a skincare routine morning and night.
Are we really trading, health, happiness and comfort, for how we present ourselves externally?
Is a soul really the price of pretty?
