Chapter Seven.
Another day, sigh.
After last night's confession, I decided na umuwi na. I don't want to hear any more about how perfect Julia is for DJ. Kaya yun, umuwi na ako.
I looked at myself in the mirror.
I'm wearing my usual jeans, a top I bought from Top Shop. Yes, it's branded, pero it's just a simple shirt, nothing special about it. My hair is straightened, the way it is. My watch on my left wrist. I'm wearing my oh-so-favorite yellow Vans shoes.
This is my usual outfit. Kahit saan, ganito lang ako. No make up, no hair styling, no nothing. Just powder and my perfume.
Today is Sunday, and I'm going to the church with Aria and Miles.
Pangit ba ako? I mean, sobrang simple ba ang mga get up ko? Suddenly, I felt insecure. I sighed and took a last glance at the mirror.
"Good morning, Dad." I said as I kissed Daddy on his cheek.
"Good morning, Kath. Hindi ka na magbre-breakfast?" he asked as he looked up from his newspaper.
"Hindi na, Dad. Sasabay na ako kina Aria." I said with a smile.
"Okay, do you need money?" he asked.
"Hindi na, Dad. I still have some money left from my weekly allowance." I answered.
"Okay then, papahatid kita sa driver." sabi niya. I just nodded as he stood up and called for the driver.
Sanay na ako sa ganito, overprotective Daddy.
Pero, he promised me, na when I'll turn 18, next year, magkakaroon na ako ng freedom. Hindi naman yung mag-momove out ako sa bahay, freedom like pwede na akong mag-drive mag-isa, umuwi nang late, makipag-date, ganun. And by then, I won't have to worry about having a boyfriend.
Dad waved goodbye as we drove away.
Now, where was I? Oh, abou the boyfriend thingy.
As you all know, my Dad is kind of overprotective, just like any other Dads. I remember when I first had a boyfriend, I kept it with my friends, including DJ, of course. Dad does not have to know. Second year yun, at last na yun. I feel such a loser, iisa lang ang ex ko. Haha, okay.
The driver dropped me on the gates of the church.
"Thanks kuya." I stated.
"Susunduin kita, ma'am?" he asked.
"Kath, po." I corrected.
"Hindi na po, sasabay ako kina Aria, alam po ni Dad." I said, answering his question.
He nodded and got into the car then drove off.
Miles texted me saying na they were on the west side of the church, the usual spot.
Pagpasok ko, the mass just started, hindi ko lang naabutan yung entrance ng pari.
I instantly spotted Miles and Aria. I walked towards their seat and sat down beside Aria who has Miles on her right.
Both girls smiled and greeted me a good morning.
I looked at them, Miles was wearing her usual Sunday get up. A decent beige dress, which reached her knees, a pair of brown wedges, and a beige sling bag. Her hair was on its usual look, nothing special. She had a small amount of make up on, lipgloss, eyeliner and mascarra.
