Chapter Thirty One
February 3, 2014. 6:48 am.
"Good morning, anak. Come join me for breakfast."
"Good morning, Dad." I greeted and kissed his cheek.
"Maaga ka yata ngayon? Sit down, kain tayo." Sabi niya. Wow, minsan lang kami nagkakasabay ni Dad ng breakfast. Ano kayang meron?
"7:30 kasi klase ko, Dad." Sabi ko at umupo na.
I looked at what was served. Bacon, eggs plus sausages. Yum! 😋
"Ahh, Kath. A letter came this morning." Sabi ni Dad.
"Letter? For?" Tanong ko naman habang kumukuha ng ulam.
"For you. Manang, pakikuha nga yung letter sa living room." Utos ni Dad sa kasambahay namin.
Agad naman nitong kinuha yung letter at binigay kay Dad.
Binigay naman ito ni Dad sa akin. "It's from New York University."
Then naalala ko. Noong pumunta kami ng New York ni Dad last December, Mom told me that she applied me into a Fashion Designing school in New York.
I excitedly took it, then opened it.

We are pleased to inform you that you have been offered a spot in the class of September 2014 for the New York University.
After reviewing your application and all the supporting documents, we have determined that you are fully qualified to be a part of our institution. Attached to this letter you will find a full admissions package, along with specific information on how to accept this offer. We ask you to respond within 10 weeks.
Once again, congratulations. We hope to hear from you soon!

It's like the grin on my face is permanently glued. Grabe, napakagandang opportunity. And oh my goodness, New York?! So, I'll be with my mom if ever.
"Anong sabi sa sulat?" Dad asked.
"Natanggap ako, Dad." I stated with a smile.
"I knew it!" I knew that you deserve to be in that school. Congrats, anak!"
I stood up and hugged him.
"We should celebrate. Family dinner tonight?" Tanong niya and I nodded.
"Okay then, finish your breakfast, anak." Sabi nya and I willingly obliged.

"Hi pusa!" I turned around and saw Katsumi and Lester waving at me.
"Kats! Les! Uy! Hello, good morning." I greeted as I walked towards them.
"Long time no talk eh?" Les stated and hugged me.
"Oo nga eh, I always see you around the campus pero lagi naman kayong may mga kasama eh." Sabi ko then hugged Kats.
"Ang sabihin mo, busy ka lang kay DJ." I rolled my eyes on Kats' statement.
