Chapter 43

Damon and Elena knocked on Bonnie's door again. "I don't think she's up for company today." He said.

"I talked to her last night and she said it's fine." Elena said.

Bonnie opened the door. "Come in." She said.

"Thanks bonnie. I was hoping we could talk to you before we go back to mystic falls." Elena said.

"I have somewhere else to be right now. But im fine and sorry about yesterday." Bonnie said.

"Okay. I will call you once we're back in mystic falls." Elena said hugging her. Bonnie and damon shared a glance at each other.

"Bye." Bonnie said as damon and Elena left her house.

"Can you hand me a monkey wrench?" Damon asked while under the car.

"Sure but do you know where to stick this?" Bonnie asked.

"Of course i do. I use to fix cars." He said.

"When?" She asked.

"For my dad and stefan. This should be a piece of cake." He said fixing the engine.

"It's starting to rain,damon." She said.

"What?" He asked misplacing the monkey wrench. Oil started spilling in his face and shirt. But damon eventually managed to fix the engine.

Bonnie held brighton as she watched damon and elena from the window. Damon noticed them then bonnie went away.

"Here comes our cab." Bonnie said.

"Perfect timing." Damon said.

The rain begin to pour upon them. Damon ran over to bonnie. She wrapped a towel around him."This has turned out to be one hell of a road trip." She said.

"Yeah." He said wrapping a towel around her. They glazed into each other eyes then started kissing.

Bonnie placed brighton into his car seat with a blanket. She goes to lock up their house as enzo pulled up outside in his car.

"Thanks for the ride." She said.

"No problem." He said.

Damon and Elena arrived at the airport. "I feel like that was a waste of a trip." She said.

"Not completely." He said.

"Bonnie must've moved away from mystic falls to get away from us." She said.

"Why would you think that?" He asked.

Bonnie and Enzo arrived inside the nursing home her uncle was staying at. She signed in then they was escorted to Benjamin Bennett room.

"Abby is that you?" Uncle benji asked.

"No uncle benji it's me,bonnie. I'm here to take you home with me." She said.

"What about Abby?" He asked.

"She's not coming." She said.

"That's a beautiful baby you have there." He said.

Damon and bonnie went into a nearby bar. "I guess this road trip isn't so bad after all." She said.

"Not bad at all." He said as they found themselves seats at a table. Then they begin listening to a live band play music.

"I just meant bonnie seem to have moved on from us." Elena lied.

"Maybe she have but she won't stay away long." Damon said.

Bonnie searched Brighton's bag.

"What you looking for?" Enzo asked.

"His pacifier. I could've sworn i had it somewhere around here. I can't seem to find it anywhere. He loves it and will need it soon." She said.
