Chapter 48

Caroline took the turkey out the oven. "We have only one more hour til bonnie is here. " She said.

"Damon is coming here too." Stefan said.

"Let's just hope he doesn't spoil this thanksgiving and blood doesn't shed." She retorted.

Damon went to his lawyer office. "Do you have the paper i asked you for last night?"

"Yes. Mr Salvatore i had the lawyer grant you the right to go after your son." Kevin said.

"Thank you." Damon said then left the office.

Bonnie and Enzo arrived outside of Caroline & Stefan house.  "Just play nice and they will like you as much as we do. "

Enzo smiled and uncle Benji took brighton out the car. Bonnie joined them as enzo called elena.

Damon was on the road to Canada. He called her phone. " Come on bon pick up."

"What do you want?" She answered.

"I want to see my son." He said.

"His name is brighton and he's my son." She said.

"When will you stop being selfish bennett?" He asked.

"When will you get it through your head that im protecting him?" She retorted.

"Protecting him from who?" He asked.

"I have to go,damon. Bye!" She said then put her phone away.

"Damn it!" Damon said hanging up.

Later everyone gathered around caroline and stefan dining table.

"So matt how is rebbekah?" Caroline decided to break the silence.

"We're just friends." He said.

"Oh. " She responded.

"But i did meet someone else and we're taking things slow." He said.

"That's great so bonnie are you going to tell everyone here the truth?" Damon interrupted.

"Do you really have to do this now?"Enzo asked.

"I'm talking to bonnie not her mouthpiece!" Damon retorted.

Enzo got into Damon face. Damon begin choking him against the wall. "I should've killed you when i had the chance months ago."

"You won't." Enzo said.

"Don't tempt him. Damon just let go of him." Bonnie said.

"You heard her." Enzo said.

"Are you going to give me what i want?" Damon asked.

"Let's not do this here." Bonnie said.

Damon takes a knife then stabbed enzo in the arm.

"Damon no!" Bonnie yelled rushing over to enzo.

"We have to talk now that i got your fully undivided attention." Damon said grabbing her up by the arm.
They went into the kitchen.

"Damon let go of me!" Bonnie said jerking away from him.

"Where is brighton?" He asked.

"He's asleep and safe." She said.

"You will not be keeping me away from my son again bon."  He said.

"I don't have time for this.  Enzo needs me!" She said.

"No i need you here talking about this. You will never be shutting me out again!" He proclaimed.

"I can't do this with you." She said.

"Then we'll do it in court." He said then handed her a envelope.

Bonnie opened it and begun reading."You bastard,you will never get your hands on my son." She pushed him then damon grabbed onto her arm.

They got closer into each other face. Damon looked in her eyes and she looked at him. They started kissing passionately.
