Chapter 12- Old Memories Resurface

Ashley's POV

I can't believe it, David..my first love is right in front of me. "h..hey how have you been?" I say trying to sound as normal as possible. "I'm alright work keeps me on my toes" he says and chuckles. I sit there and the memories slowly flow back in my mind. "hey...can we talk?" he asked bringing me out of my thoughts. "sure" I say. He tells me to meet him at the Starbucks down the street and that he had to drop his son off home first. When I get to the place I ordered a passion tea with lemonade, however when I got the drink and sat down I just stare down at it. I haven't seen David since....he was forced to leave me. "Hey..are you alright?" David says softly. I look up as he slowly sits down and I nod. "So...how have you been?" he asked staring at me. "I've been great...have a wonderful family and a settled down job..how about you?" I say. "I'm doing good, my son is my world....Hey do you ever think about..." he says and I knew where he was going with it," the old days and what happened?....yea i do" I say. "why didn't you fight for me?" I continued and he looks at me hurt. "I didn't want to cause you more pain then you already had" he says.

"so pretending to cheat was any better?" I say and he chuckles. " I was a young fool but it was the only way to get you to hate me enough to let me go" with that I stared at him. "Ashley...though you're happy with your life...I never stopped loving you" he says softly and I feel a knot appear in my throat. No David don't do this to me I can't. "David..we can't.." I say and he interrupts," I know...but I still wish I could've had a do over to make it right and be yours" I stare at my tea no longer abled to look at him. " it's never too late to make it right...however I no longer can be yours." He stares at me and smiles weakly,"...I know...trust me I know" What am I doing here...I should leave. "look I better.." I say quickly while getting up but he stops me and grabs my hand," let me see you again....please" I nod unable to speak and he smiles and writes his number down and hands it to me and hugs me tight and whispers in my ear "I've missed you so much" and walks out the door leaving me just stuck. Once I heard him get in the car and leave I take my drink and get in the car and just sit there as the tears fall from my eyes "dammit Liam" I say softly. I quickly shake it off and wipe my tears remembering I had to get home to my husband and kids.

Finn's POV

The kids was arguing of which song to sing first so they decided to play paper, rock, scissors to see which song they was singing first. I was in the kitchen watching them as Ashley walks through the door and I pulled her to me and kissed her deeply ,"Hey hunny you're just in time for the show" I say chuckling and she looks at me smiling,"oh really?" she says and i point to the kids as they got in their spots and Ashley quickly pulled out a camera and started recording as they began to sing.

Me and Ashley starts clapping and the look at us smiling then bowed. "we got some talented kids don't we?" I say then Ashley leans her head on my shoulder smiling," we sure do" we hold eachother. The rest of the day went by pretty fast and though Ashley didn't say it seemed like something kept distracting her. Finally it came time again for class and I thought of using a classic assignment. Letting them sing their emotions and what they feel and if they ever been in love how did they meet and did it survive? Aiden raises his hands and I call on him," how did you and Mom met" he asked and me and her started at eachother smiling. "thanks a long story kiddo" I say giggling and he says," no time like the present to show us how the assignment should be done right?" and with that the class starts chanting "show us" and Ashley and I look at eachother and laugh. I'll get Aiden back for that one later he got this one and he got me good. "We'll our story is pretty complicated you see...I honestly don't know where to begin" I say. Ashley walks beside me smiling," then lets start from the very beginning." I love this woman so much.
