(Lol the song you'll know when it should be played haha)

"And that's why we need you guys there," Tyler finished his long rant.

"Absolutely not."

"Carter, come on, I don't mind," I tried. He gave me a side glare.

"I do. We're not going." I slapped his arm and turned to Tyler.

"We'll be there." He smiled.

"Cool, and don't worry, Carter, it's just a party, we've been to many parties. What's the big deal?" Carter sighed loudly, giving Tyler a warning. He immediately pulled back and stopped talking.

"Don't worry, nothing is gonna happen," Max joined. The mentioned party was a Halloween party. It was a girl Tyler knew who threw it, and as they both said 'it was gonna be chill and cool'. I was up for it, and I also thought that Carter needed it. He always took care of me, he needed some fun. The only thing I was anxious about was the costume. You needed to dress up. I knew every girl would dress up slutty, but I couldn't do that. I didn't want to show skin, and I didn't want to wear skintight clothing. So what was I going to do?

"I just... Em, are you sure you're comfortable with it?" I nodded. I didn't want to turn Carter into that guy. He still needed to hang out with his friends and do fun stuff. He shouldn't be home with me every night.

"Of course, it will be fun!" Max and Tyler both nodded and agreed enthusiastic. They really wanted Carter to come out. I couldn't blame them though; he had been forgetting them a little.

"Okay, so it's this Friday. You'll need a costume, but nothing too crazy. Max and I are going as fighters." I looked at Tyler with a questionable look.

"We get to be shirtless and... well, the girls," Max said. I burst out laughing. Carter chuckled and shook his head.

"You guys are desperate."

"Oh come on, Carter, don't you remember that year? What were you? A firefighter?" Carter sent a warning glare and raised his hand. Max laughed and shut up.

"Whatever. Okay, so I'll bring a tequila and you guys bring a grey?" Max questioned. Wow, heavy drinkers.

"Yeah sure, sounds fine," Carter said. I drank before my parents died. It was almost every weekend, but I didn't get shit-faced, it was more the social acceptable tipsy thing. But knowing Carter, Max and Tyler, they were probably the types that indeed did get shit-faced. The bell rung and the guys left, Carter's eyes went to mine and he smiled.

"Are you really sure about the party? We can leave whenever you want!" He said and took my hand protectively.

"I'm sure! Don't worry, Carter, it'll be fine. But, what are you dressing up as? I don't know what I should be..." he crooked up a brow.

"How about a sexy nurse? Or a police woman?" I smacked his chest.

"Carter, I'm serious!"

"Oh, so am I." I gave him a glare. He sighed and got up from the seat and helped me too.

"Thanks." He shook his head. He never wanted me to thank him for 'the things boyfriends were supposed to do'.

"I don't really know. I didn't want you in a skimpy outfit anyway. Maybe you should put on ears and call it a night?"

"Okay, first of all, ears, really? And second, why wouldn't you want me in a skimpy outfit? Scared you'll get competition?" I winked at him and he suddenly grew serious. He took my hand and led me to an exit. He pulled me out of the door and pushed me against the brick wall lightly. He crooked up his brow a little and inhaled deeply.
