Surprise update!!

(Though it's sort of a break up song, it's still good and cute)

(Still) Carter's POV

I woke up on my stomach. I was in bed and Emily was lying halfway on top of me. Her one arm was on top of my back and her leg was over my one leg, making her legs intertwine with my own. She was warm and it was radiating of her.

I looked over at my watch and saw it was 9 am. It wouldn't be outrageous to wake her up now. I wanted to be with her. I was only in my underwear and I could feel Emily was naked underneath the t-shirt she had burrowed from me.

I knew I hurt her last night by coming clean, but I knew we could make up again. I knew we would be good. I still needed to find the perfect time to tell her about Ashley. I had a feeling Ashley would tell her if I didn't, and I definitely wanted to be the one to tell her. This was something that was on my mind quite a lot, but I wanted Emily to feel good about herself, and this relationship, when I said it. If I told her in a moment where she doubted herself and my feelings towards her, it would only hurt her even more. I didn't want her to a relapse because of something like this. Not because of Ashley. I didn't want her to have a relapse at all, but I knew that this was something hard to just overcome and it would take years before she was completely good, if ever. I had to be realistic. I would never stop watching her eating habits and the way she acted. Never.

"Emily," I whispered and turned my head around so I was looking at her. "It's time to wake up." She stirred and moved around. I instantly missed her body on top of mine. Her mouth opened by her sleep and she looked so funny I had to laugh. I picked up her arm and let fell to the mattress with a thumb.

"Stop," she said with a groggy, sleepy voice. I had to laugh again. I leaned in so I was centimeters from her ear.

"Wake up, I want to open presents," I said loud enough for her to wake up. I knew I was being annoying right now, but I truly did want her to wake up.

"Oh, my God, Carter. You're the most annoying person on earth, do you know that?" she hissed and sat up in a mater of seconds. I quickly drew back my head, trying not to get hit by her rushed movements.

"Please, you love me. I'll now go and grab some hot chocolate and then we'll open each other's presents?" she nodded and waved me away.

As I went down the stairs, I recognized I was right by my expectation of the decorations being taken down right after the party. The entre was once again back to normal.

The kitchen was clean and no plates, silverware, or anything else that could've been left over from the party, was present. My parents must've been very demanding with the servers.

I made two cups in the coffee maker and added a few marshmallows. I carried them up to my room and opened the door.

Emily was no longer in the bed, but the toilet door was closed and I figured she was getting ready. She would always get up and brush her teeth and hair; she never just wanted to lie in bed as she was. I didn't object since I knew she did it because she felt insecure.

While thinking about her, she left the bathroom and entered my room. She smiled at me, definitely being a little sweeter than she were just before.

"You're nicer now," I said with a fake smile, while tilting my head. She giggled, nodded, and went to hug me. Trying my best not to spill the hot chocolate all over her, I hugged her back.

"Good morning and merry Christmas," she whispered and kissed my lips. To this day, I still found it surprising when she was the one to start things. The whole scenario of actually getting Emily, making her my girlfriend, was insane to me. I would never get tired of feeling surprised. Though I quickly recovered and kissed her back.
