The next day, while the kids were in school, and Simon was at work, Paula started to move her belongings into her new house. The house had a metal fence with a gate by the main pathway and was only one story, but it looked like a magazine. Along with bunches of beautiful flowers, there were also a few trees to bring some shade in the front yard. The pathway was made up of about six or seven stairs and also had a bunch of plants and flowers scattered out through the front yard. The outside of the house had four long windows; two on other side of the front door. Also there were two arches over the front door, one a bit bit higher than the other. And there was a porch light that was hung by the front door. By the driveway on the left side of the house was the garage that looked like a second house. Most of the house was made of up brick expect for the two arches, by the front door, which was a lighter shade of ivory and the door was made out of redwood.
The inside also looked as if it had walked out of a designing magazine as well. The house was covered cherry wooden floor which matched the white walls. On the left side of the house was a long and narrow hallway where the bedrooms were. And on the right side of the house was an open living room with a den located right next to it. The dining room came next and was connected to both the office and kitchen by swinging doors. The kitchen was very out in the open. It had stainless steel counters and an island in the middle. The house contained of four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. On the opposite side of the kitchen was the family room and the backyard could be seen from the kitchen table, located in the corner of the kitchen.
The backyard was separated from the rest of the house by double French doors. It also contained a patio that had enough room for a table with an umbrella. Additionally had a medium-sized pool, a vegetable garden and trees throughout the backyard. She spent most of the late morning to early afternoon moving into the house. She had a lot of help from Dan to move the big furniture from the Simon's garage into the house. When they had finished, they went to get a well deserved bite to eat before they departed to keep the house a secret from Simon. Paula went to pick of the kids from school after having lunch with Dan. When they arrived at home, she told them to put their bags inside of the house before she lead the next door.
"Um Mom, why are we going next door for?" Lily asked curiously.
"Well if you guys promise to keep this from Dad, I would like to show you something," Paula said.
"So what's going on?" Holly asked wondering. Her mom was acting strange lately.
"Well I bought this house yesterday, so girls this is your new home," Paula said explaining what was going on.
"But I thought that we were living under one roof with them?" Holly asked confused about the whole situation.
"Yes we were doing that for a little bit. But I just thought this was a better living situation. And don't worry I'll tell Dad when I'm ready to, okay?" Paula said hoping that they could keep this secret.
"So can we go in, please?" Dylan asked with a pout and a set of puppy eyes.
"Sure but no running," Paula said in a motherly tone.
She watched as the kids took a look at her new place. It only took the kids a couple of minutes to make their way into the backyard. There was an image that caught her attention. Holly, Lily and Dylan were playing with Rochelle. She wished that she had remembered a camera because that would be a great picture to have. They would play soccer with her and the girls would push Dylan over. She didn't interrupt them because he was smiling and laughing right next to them. A few minutes later, they came back in the house again. Lily made a beeline from the backyard to her Mom, who was looking at the appliances in the kitchen.
