"Okay guys, we're here," Simon said putting the car in park before turning off the engine.
"Where are we?" Dylan asked, thinking he'd been here before.
"We're at Papa and Gram's house," he said smiling, as he opened the back door.
Dylan and Rochelle immediately got excited. They haven't seen their other grandparents in years. When the family got to the doorstep, Paula knocked on the door. Before anyone could say anything about how gorgeous the house was or how beautiful the flowers looked, Mary answered the door. She was very happy to see them.
"Please come in and make yourselves at home," Mary said, smiling from ear to ear.
Then Simon, Paula, and the kids followed her into the family room where the rest of Amy's family was. Amy's father, Ray, was sitting in his favorite chair as they came into the room. He was lost in his own world thinking about Amy. He had truly missed her. Ray wished that his grandchildren could live closer to him so that he would still have a little piece of her in his everyday life. It just wasn't the same since they moved to the States with their father. But he knew that they were in good hands, and for that he was thankful. His three remaining grown children were sitting next to him on the couch. But if anyone asked him how many children he had, he would still say four. Ray knew that Amy, his youngest daughter, would always be in his heart. This was one of the ways that he coped with losing her.
"Dad what's wrong? You've staring at the wall for a while now," Sam said trying to get his attention.
"Oh sorry, I'm just lost in thought," Ray replied while looking at him.
"Hi Papa! Are you okay?" Dylan asked, concerned about him.
"Yes I am, my boy! How's my partner in crime doing?"
"Good. I've really missed you and Gram! Actually I've missed all of you!"
"But you missed me the most, right?"
"Papa I don't have favorites, sorry!"
"No need to apologize, son. So where's your Dad?"
"I don't know."
All of a sudden, Rochelle appeared right next to her twin brother.
"Papa I've missed you to the moon and back again!" she said with a giant smile on her face.
"I've missed you and Dylan that much too!" Ray said smiling down at his grandchildren, who had climbed up into his lap. "How's my little buttercup?" he asked, focusing on Rochelle.
"I'm great, Papa! How are you?"
"I'm doing well, thank you! Wow you look just like your mother!"
"Thank you Papa!"
While Dylan and Rochelle were catching their Grandpa up to speed about their new living arrangement and their new family, Holly and Lily were meeting Amy's siblings. First they met Amy's twin sister, Janet. She was older than Amy by ten minutes. Then she introduced them to Sam, her older brother by two years. And finally they met Caleb. He's the youngest in the Gray family. Caleb is two years younger than Janet and Amy.
Lily and Holly spent time with Amy's siblings talking about how their trip to England was going so far. The girls were enjoying themselves. Just then Simon and Paula finally came into the family room. The kids had forgotten that their parents had been missing since they were having good conversations with Amy's family. The kids were about to ask where they had been, but before anyone could speak, Simon began to speak.
"We've just came from visiting Amy's grave. It looks well kept up," he said, looking at his second family.
"Thanks mate! Sam and I clean it up twice a month," Caleb said looking at Simon, who he considered to be one of his older brothers.
