Hi everyone! Sorry haven't been posting in over three weeks. I had the common cold and I still have a lingering cough now. During the time of being sick, I didn't have energy to write/type, sorry! But I'm back now and I thought I would make it up to you by making this chapter super long. Enjoy! (Look out for another Christmas Story 1/1 with the same characters as last year! Hope to have it up before Christmas!)

"Sydney would you like to come over for dinner?"
"Sure, thank you!"
As the group walked to the parking lot away from the hospital, the kids asked if they could go home with Sydney. Their parents approved and then asked Sydney too. She couldn't turn down their sad faces. The kids piled into the car, but before Sydney got in the car, Simon got her attention. He signaled for her to come meet him and Paula by the trunk so that the kids wouldn't hear what was going on.
"We need you help one more time today, darling," Simon said, hoping she could help them out.
"Of course, what is it?"
Simon and Paula took turns telling her about their plan for when they got home. The plan was for Sydney to watch the kids while they made dinner so that the kids wouldn't interrupt them. She smiled and agreed to their plan.
As they arrived to the house, Sydney parked across the street by her house so that she didn't have to do that later that night after babysitting. Then she and the kids watched for cars before crossing the street and into the house.
"Come on guys, let's go upstairs and play," Sydney said guiding them in that direction.
"Why can't we play down here?" Lily asked looking up at Sydney. She knew something was going on, but hoped that someone would fill them in.
"Let's have a new scenery," she replied, trying to get the kids to just trust her and go up the stairs. This excuse was the first thing she thought of.
Once the happy couple heard the play room door shut, Simon and Paula headed into the kitchen to make dinner.
"So what's our children's favorite meals?"
"Wow you're just now asking me that now? I'm not trying to be rude, but we should've thought of that earlier because what if we needed to stop by the store of the way home?"
"I realize that, Cowell. But I was worried about how the meeting with the lawyer would go and Holly's appointment to even think about this."
Simon placed his big and strong arms around her tiny waist and pulled her into his chest. "There's nothing to worry about, love. I'm always going to be here for you. Love, you will face nothing alone, I promise."
Paula could stay in Simon's embrace forever, but she didn't want the kids to come downstairs and find them like this with no dinner on the table. "Thanks I needed that. So what do we do about dinner?"
"You leave everything to me. So why don't you go take a nap. I'll come wake you up when it's time to eat."
"Wow Si, what's gotten into you?"
"I know you need to relax and I want to help out."
"Okay but if you burn dinner, there is money for pizza in my purse."
He nodded as she headed upstairs. When he heard their bedroom door close, Simon looked down at the dog who was smiling back at him.
"Okay Honey listen to Daddy. I'm going to quickly run to pick up some dinner. Please look after Mummy and the children, alright?"
