Chapter 22

I know I said I update every three to four days, but I just felt like updating today! Hope you don't mind! Enjoy!

"Darling, where are you?"

"I'll be right down."

Paula was still staring at the ring while dreaming about the future when he startled her. Then she got up from his bed and walked quickly to his open shirt drawer and placed the ring back into the box before gently putting the box down before closing the drawer. She lifted the laundry basket up and headed to the master bathroom. She took the used towels from over the shower curtain and placed them inside of the basket. As she headed down the stairs, she could see him waiting for her in the entry way.

"Oh there you are. What were you doing?"

"I did some laundry, I hope you don't mind."

"No I don't mind, but thank you. I was meaning to do that but I kept on forgetting."

"You're welcome. So what's up?"

"I finally moved you back in and I was wondering if you would like to go out for lunch."

"Sure I'd like that."

"Great, I'm going to go get change. We'll leave soon."

Just then Paula's cell phone started to ring. She checked the caller I.D. to find a number she knew by heart.

"Hey Mom, how are you?"

"I'm fine, how are you dear?"

"I'm good."

"Hey listen I would love to have you, the girls, your boyfriend, and his family over tonight. Is that okay with you?"

"Um let me go check."

She ran upstairs and knocked gently on his door. He opened it without a shirt on. She placed her hand over the phone before she started to talk to him.

"My Mom wants to know if we and the kids would like to come over for dinner tonight."

"Sure love, if you want to."

"Okay and honey please get a shirt on."

"No thanks love, I was thinking about going out like this."

"The answer is still no."

"Fine but should I wear?"

"I don't care but get dressed."

"Okay."

"Sorry Mom, I'm back."

"So are you guys coming?"

"Yes but Mom how did you know that we are dating?"

"Oh honey I watch the show every week and I can tell. But I wasn't a hundred percent positive but thanks for telling me."

"So is there anything that I can bring tonight?"

"No just yourselves. I have everything that I need."

"Okay we'll be over around six."

Soon after Paula got off of the phone, they left the house. They went to a local and causal, restaurant where they could have a peaceful meal without a million flashes blinding them. Simon ordered a sandwich and salad for the both of them. After they had ate, there was an awkward moment between the two of them until he broke the ice.

"Okay present time."

"Um what are we celebrating?"

"Nothing, but I decided to give you this."
