A Second Chance

Just yesterday

"Jessica, look at this little outfit!" 

"Awe!  He'd look like a little man!" Jessica smiles.

"Right?  Oh gosh, I want a boy!"

"Have one, then we'll be pregnant together!"

"Oh no!  Haha, not yet!  Give me a few years, then we'll see."

"Alright, *Laughs* Look at this one!" Jessica holds up a blue onesie that says Little Brother.

"Awe!  Jessica, I can't wait for you to have the baby!"

"Me either!  He's gonna look so cute in all this stuff!"

Thursday.  

"Happy Birthday!!"Jessica smiles when Michael comes downstairs.

"Thanks, mom!" 

Jessica hugs him tight and kisses his cheek.

"My boy is so big!"

She gets tears in her eyes and Michael says, "No, don't do that!"

"I'm sorry!  I just can't help it!

It seems like just yesterday I was in labor with you!  

... Hah.. Oh gosh.. It was a circus.."

August 2002

"Here's your cereal, boys."

"No cereal!" Sam hits the bowl, making a mess everywhere.

"Samuel!  No sir!" Jessica grabs his hand, and lightly taps it, making him cry loudly.

"I didn't hit you hard, now stop that crying!"

Sam had been staying with Jessica and her family, to help with the boys, since Jessica was due any day now.

"Jessica Lange!  Get off that floor!" Sam says walking into the kitchen.

He grabs her arm and helps her up.

"Your son spilled his cereal because he didn't feel like eating that today."

"Samuel!  Don't be a bad boy!"

"I like mine, mommy!" James smiles.

"Good baby." Jessica smiles and kisses his head.

Jessica sits the bowl on the counter and sighs.

"How's Michael doing this morning?"

"Sam.. I don't think he's ever coming out!"

"Awe, of course he is!  He's only three days over do."

"He's three days old and he's still inside of me!" She raises her voice.  

Sam smiles and moves a straggle piece of hair behind her ear.
