A Second Chance

One phone call

A week has passed and Danny has not mentioned his mother.
Jessica didn't want to upset him, so she stayed quiet.

At work George noticed something was bothering Jessica.

"Jess, you okay?"

"Hm? Oh, yeah.. I'm okay."

George sits on the edge of her desk and sets his paperwork down.

"What's up? Talk to me, sis."

*Sighs* "Okay. So go remember the deal with Danny's parents?"

"Yeah."

"Well his mom called him at work but Danny hung up and never called her back. He's really hurt over the whole thing and it's understandable! His parents disowned him!
I told him that I'd support him in what ever decision he made. It's been a week and he hasn't brought it up again. It just pisses me off! Why did they do that to him? Why is she just now calling him? He's been quiet this week.. Even the boys have noticed. I really think he needs to see them, or at least his mom. His dad hasn't called. I just don't know what to do.."

"Why don't you bring up the idea of just calling his mom?"

"I don't want him to think I'm forcing him to do anything."

"Jess, he won't think that. You're about to be his wife, he'll listen to what you have to say.

"Yeah.. I guess you're right. I'll talk to him tonight."

"Hey baby. *Smiles* How was work?" Jessica asks as Danny walks into the kitchen.

"Eh. It was okay. Yours?"

"It was good. Dinner is almost ready."

"Great! I'm gonna change, and I'll be back." Danny says walking towards the stairs.

"Hey!" Jessica whines.

"What?" He turns to her.

"You didn't give me a kiss." She pouts.

"Awe I'm sorry!" Danny hurries over and gives her a kiss.

"I love you." He says as he wraps his arms around her and rests her head on her.

"I love you too."

"Daddy home!! Daddy home!!" They hear the pitter patter of little feet running towards them.

"Hey buddy!"

"Hi!"

Danny turns to Grayson and he runs into his arms.

He kisses him and asks, "How was your day? Did you have fun at grandma's?"

"Yeah! I go to my dada's mama's house! We see my daddy on da TV!!"

"Oh how cool, Gray!"

Jessica smiles and says, "Jane played a video from the twins sixth birthday party.. Sam was quite the entertainer!" Jessica laughs.

"Dada a clown!" Grayson mumbles in his cute baby voice.

"A clown?" Danny chuckles.

"Yeah! *Laughs* The clown we hired fell through, but the boys were so set on having one.. Sam didn't want to disappoint them, so he scavenged all over the house and came up with the best clown costume he could, which was pretty awesome! The boys loved it, especially since it was daddy! They would always beg him.. Daddy be a clown! Be a clown!
Daddy Ruffles was a huge hit!"

"Hah! That's awesome! I'd love to see that video one day, Grayson."

Grayson smiles and buries his face in him.
