A Second Chance

My baby

One week later.

"Jessica, has your period come since the last time I saw you?" Her doctor asks.

"Just light spotting. But it's more than it was before."

He sighs and looks at her chart that had her blood tests results on them.

Jessica became very concerned with his response.

"What's going on?" Danny asks.

"She's still not ovulating."

"Okay.. So double the dosage, right?" Jessica asks.

"I can do that, but remember you can only take this medication for a total of six months and you're in month three."

"Do you not think it'll work?"

"No, it could still work, but I'm just letting you know."

"Okay.. Double it."

"Yes ma'am."

The day before Grayson's fourth birthday.

"I can't believe my baby's gonna be four years old. Where has the time gone?" Jessica says watching him play with his toys.

"I remember the day before I had him, I was SO uncomfortable! The boys were really great though. They helped me a lot."

"Really? I don't think you've ever told me about when he was born."

"Well the day before, it was a few hours before my water broke, I went to take a nap and I had this insanely vivid dream."

"What was it about?"

"I had dreamt that losing Sam was all a dream.. We spent the day at the park, and then that night we.. Well we had sex and that's when my water broke. I dreamt my entire labor and the delivery."

"Wow, really?"

"Yeah.." Tears fill Jessica's eyes.

"I had him and he said that they were birthday buddies.. Then things changed and I was pregnant again, and Sam was telling me these things... He said that Grayson was coming and that I would love him.. That he would never ever leave me and to always remember how strong I am.. He even told me about that cute little birth mark on his butt." She chuckle and wipes her eyes.

"That's so cool."

"Yeah. *Nods* It was so real.  I woke up in tears and just needed to see him.  The boys took me to the cemetery and I talked to him for a while.  It was the first time since the funeral I had gone to see him.
.. The boys gave me some time alone, then came over and we talked about all the crazy things Sam did.. I had to stop a few times because my contractions kept coming and by that time they were really bad. We cried.. We laughed.. I laughed so hard my water broke all over him!" Jessica chuckles.

"Your water broke at the cemetery?!"

"Yeah! It was so funny!" She laughs.

Later that day Jessica started on dinner and Danny went to pick the boys up from the airport.

"Mommy, are the boys coming home?"

"Yes they are! Are you excited!"
