THE WALKING DEAD

What a day yesterday was? Even worse, what a night! I fell asleep around 5a.m. and woke up at 8a.m. to Angus's wet kisses on my face. I could really use some more sleep. I force myself to get dressed but man, I feel like a zombie! While talking a look in the mirror it was clearly visible that my beauty sleep didn't go really well.

I'm afraid that if I go outside people will start running opposite the way I'm walking, believing that the dead had risen and are about to take control of the world!

Unwillingly, I dragged my self to the kitchen to have some coffee, supporting my face between my hands, truly hoping that it will make me less cranky. Taking a sit down on my blue armchair I start observing people who rushed to their jobs. They all seem as if they have somewhere important to be. Angus looks at me begging for some attention. It's time for his morning walk if I don't ant my carpet to become his toilet.

Before I taking off I had my hair pulled up into a messy bun and my sunglasses to hide the dark circles under my eyes. Angus who's already waiting in front of the door sniffing it looks at me impatiently. Making sure I got everything, phone, keys, and of course Angus, I start locking my door. Soon enough I heard Adam talking on the phone while unlocking his.

"Yes, yes, I'll be there on time. Don't worry mom. Ok, yes. Bye mom, love you."

A smile brightens my face when I hear him talking to his mom in such a sweet way. When he opens the door I see him startle; I know I'm not looking great, but am I really looking that bad?

"Good morning Adam! Heading to work?" I say with a smile.

"Good morning beautiful! Not really, I took the day off. I was going to get a coffee, do you want to join me?" He says while his eyes light up. Beautiful, really? Has he seen me? It's the zombie apocalypse boy! Run for your life!

"You know what? I could really use some good coffee. There's a problem though, I really need to take Angus to the park. So as soon as you are ok with that I'll be pleased to have you as a company" I better not be alone today, otherwise I might be having some funky thoughts which I would rather avoid...

"Of course. Angus is a wonderful company!" He winks at me and laughs.

The moment we got outside of our building Adam gestures me to stay and runs towards the opposite corner. I wonder where he's heading to and how long he'll be gone. The sunlight is torturing me, especially today that I feel as if I have the worst hangover of the history although I only had one drink last night. I look at the sun and give it the middle finger while I groan. Any sane person looking at me will be wondering what in the world is going wrong with me. Even if that is the case, I couldn't care less. Only a few minutes pass by and I spot Adam running towards me with two cups on his hands.

"Sorry it took me so long, this place is always packed!" He says while smiling at me.

"No worries, thank you for the coffee. How much do I owe you?"

"Are you serious? It's on me!"

"Oh come on now! Please?"

"Don't even think about it, I'll take it as an offense if you deny my treat!"

"Ok, ok. Next one is on me though!" I smile while I take a sip of my coffee and wink at Adam.

"We'll see about that my lady. I hope you'll enjoy it!" He says while bowing at me and taking a rose behind his back leaving me speechless.

"Oh how pretty!"

"I couldn't help but think of you when I saw it." He says while he passes the rose to me.
