The Darkness Inside

*(Before you start reading this, read the first book, this is the sequal to The Wolf Inside, so read that first then read this).

I stood in the field for a few seconds then I began to run. I ran through the woods crying. My brother was dead, Reedus doesnt want me as a mate, and Dustin hates me because I killed some vampires in the war.

My wolf whined and cried. My banshee was upset because of all the deaths. I was just numb. My kind and gentle soul was leaving me. In it's place formed a dark and dangerous soul. I would need to start my life over. I couldnt stay here anymore. I needed to leave this hell hole.

I used my vampire speed to run through the woods. I ran to my house and busted through the front door. Shane and some off the pack members were there. Shane looked at me and said "dont listen to Reedus, we need you as our luna". I said "I'm done being anything to anybody".

I walked past them and went up to my room. I grabbed a bag and put some things inside. I put all my make-up in the bag and I grabbed some clothes. I walked into my brother's room and went into his closet. I went over to the secret wall safe and put in the code "1025". The door beeped and I opened the latch.

 I grabbed the huge roll of cash in the safe and I grabbed my passport. My brother had these things incase of an emergency. I walked over to his nightstand and picked up a picture of me and him hugging. I took the picture out and put it in one of the pockets in the backpack. I put the money and passport in my pocket and I put the backpack on.

I ran downstairs and tried to walk out the front door, but Shane grabbed ahold of my wrist. He begged "please dont leave us, just stay away from Reedus". I said "like I said "I'm done with everybody, I'm leaving".

I dug my wolf claws into his arm and he let go. I said "there's nothing left for me here, and dont worry, Reedus will find plenty of other women. I bet one of them will be a luna". Shane and the other wolves begged me to stay. I looked down and said "I'm sorry, but I'm not staying here any longer".

A few tears rolled down my cheeks, but I wiped them away because I was done showing emotions. I opened the door then slammed it behind me. Reedus was standing in the middle of the driveway. I looked at him them growled. He said "look, I'm sorry for what I said, I was just mad, I need you, my wolf needs you, the pack need you". I laughed and said "like I said to the pack, I'm done with everyone".

Reedus looked shocked at the way I talked. He walked over to me and said "Shelby, this isnt you, what happened to you. You used to be sweet and innocent, but now you are just....just....". I finished his sentence and said "dark". He said "exactly". I said "oh well, this is  what happens when everything you love either dies or doesnt want you".

I walked away and kept my mouth shut, I didnt even say good bye to him. I just walked down the driveway and walked along the side of the road. The sun was riseing so I knew people would be on the road heading to work.

Headlights came down the road so I stuck my thumb out and they stopped. I ran over to the driver side and the person rolled down the window. It was a guy and he looked to be in his young 20's. He eyes me up then asked "where you headin cutie"? I said "airport". He smiled and said "hop in". I walked over to the passenger side and opened the door. I got in and shut the door.

He didnt drive, he just stared at me. He leaned over and tried to kiss me. I said "you chose the wrong time to mess with me". I glowed my eyes bright yellow at him, then I sank my wolf claws into his neck. I opened the car door on his side and I pushed him out. I scooted over to the driver seat and shut the driver door. I licked the blood off of my claws then they went away.

I pressed down on the gas pedal and drove to the airport. When I got to the parking lot I ditched the car and threw the keys on the seat. Anyone could take it and I really could care less. I walked into the airport with only my backpack, wolf, banshee, vampire, and my dark soul.

I walked over to the desk and bought a ticket to go to Scranton, Pennsylvania. I put my bag on the conveyor belt and walked through the metal detector. After I walked through it I grabbed my bag and I walked over to the gate I needed to to through. I handed the lady my ticket tand she examined it. She handed it back to me so I walked down the long hallway leading to the door of the plane.

I walked on and found my seat. I sat by the window and I put my backpack under my seat. I leaned my head against the glass and thought about everything that happened. Then 2 guys came over. Their seats were in my row. They put their bags in the overhead compartment then they scooted in next to me.

One looked over and said "hey". I said "hey", but I didnt make any eye contact. The guy sitting next to him reached his hand out for me to shake. I turned and quickly shook it. I leaned my hand on the glass of the window again and stared out. The same guy that I shook hands with said "I like your eye color, I want to get colored contacts like that too". I said "they arent contacts". He said "wow, thats awesome, I wish I was born with color eyes like that".

I looked at them and they were completely heavy metal looking. I asked them "where did you guys get your clothes at"? The guy that sat next to me said "Hot Topic, the best store ever". I said "I'll have to check it out". They both smiled and said "well we can show you in Pennsylvania if you want". I said "I think I can manage, but thanks anyway".

The flight attendent told everyone to buckle their seatbelts because the plane was ready to take off. I put my seatbelt on then looked at the 2 guys. The guy in the middle said "my seatbelf is jammed". I said "I got it". I leaned over across him and grabbed his seatbelt. I tugged on it and it became unstuck. I brought it over his waist and clicked it into place. I leaned back in my seat and looked back out the window.

He smiled and said "thanks". I said "no problem". The plane turned and sped down the runway. Night was approaching and it was cool to watch while you were up in the sky. The attendent came around and handed blankets and pillowes to everyone.

Me and the 2 guys put the pillows behind our heads and we reclined our seats back. Then we all unfolded our blankets and covered up. I snuggled against the wall of the plane. In the middle of the night I woke up to the guy beside me pushing the attendent button. The attendent didnt come because she was probably sleeping.

I asked "whats wrong"? He said "just cold. I want another blanket". I said "I'll warm you up". I placed my hand over his chest and he instantly became warmer. He asked "what did you do and how did you do that"? I smiled and said "people say I have a magically warm touch". He smiled and grabbed my hand. He said "wow, you are super hot". I said "yep". He asked "how arent you sweating under that blanket"? I said "because I dont feel the heat, but other people can".

We both layed back down and he faced in my direction. He quietly asked "what are you gonna do when you get to Pennsylvania"? I turned around to face him. I thought for a few seconds and said "start over, have a new life". He smiled and asked "want to come with us"? I said "look, you seen like a nice guy, but I barely know you, and I just want to be alone, so go to sleep".

I turned over and ignored what he said. I said to myself "just focus on you and only you, you are done with everybody, remember". I closed my eyes and focused on sleep. After about 2 minutes I was out like a light.
