The Darkness Inside

Ch:29

I heard a beeping sound replay over and over again. It was a heart monitor. It was beeping kind of slow so I assumed that I was still pretty weak. I heard people all around the room I had yet to see. I tried to open my eyes, but they wouldnt open right away. They felt like heavy rocks. They were almost impossible to open. I finally found the power and strenght to open them. It took me a while to get used to the lighting because there was a huge lamp dangling above me. It was swinging due to the air conditioner that was blowing cool refreshing air into the hot room.

When I finally got my eyes open wide enough I looked around the room. I was on a cold metal table. It looked like the ones at a vet clinic. I was also hooked up to all sorts of iv's. There were different bags of liquid by the table hanging on a medical stand. One had a red dark liquid in it, another had a clear liquid, and the last liquid had a weird green tint to it, but I assumed that it was important for me.

Nobody noticed that I was up yet so I took the chance to look around at everyone. Josh had his face in his hands and he was whining and whimpering.  He looked tired and restless. Mikayla and Alexia were sitting on the bench in the corner of the room hugging eachother. They were crying silently. Dustin was pacing back and forth by the door. He was mumbling stuff under his breath that I couldnt make out. All the other vamps were sitting on the floor in the corner of the room. They all looked concerned and anxious. Elisha was wiping tears from her face as other hunters hugged her to comfort her.

I whimpered and whined trying to get someones attention. My whimpering and whinging made Josh look up. He seen that I was awake so he got up and walked over to me. A smiled formed on his face. When he got up her drew the attention of the rest of them. As Josh grabbed my hand the others quickly made a circle around the table. They all looked at me and began to smile.

Josh smiled then he asked "how you feeling"? I said "I feel like shit, my stomach hurts a lot". Josh said "I bet, the doctor saved your life". I asked "how long have I been out for"? Josh said "a few days, we come back every day to wait and see of you'll wake up". I asked "how's Chris"? Josh said "he;s ok, he's just worried about you". I asked "why"? Josh said "well I told him that you got stabbed, but I also told him that you werent allowed to have any visiters. Ever since I told him he has been a wreck.

My heart sank because I felt really bad for Chris. I asked "how is he doing"? Josh said "he hasnt slept in days, he is constantly crying and he asks to come see you every day". I asked "when can I see him"? Josh said "whenever the doc says you can leave". I asked "are we in a vet clinic"? Josh smiled and he said "yep, the doc specializes in wolves, he's saved my life countless times".

The doc entered and he walked over. His skin was a light caramel color and he had a huge smile on his face. He asked "and how is my patient feeling"? I said "my stomach hurts". He said "you are lucky to be alive, there was so muc wolfsbayne on the blade. You lost more than half of your blood and the remaining got poisoned". I asked "then how am I still alive"? He said "becasue Josh, Kilayla, Alwxia, and Elisha dontated blood to you". I smiled and I said "thanks guys". They all smiled and they said "no problem".

I asked "is there still wolfsbayne in me"? The doc said "yes, but your body is doing a good job of fighting it off. He pulled up my shirt and there were about 20 stictches. He poked around and he asked "can you feel any of this"? I said "no, it just hurts on the inside". The doc said "well it's healing so thats the good thing".

I asked "how much longer do you think I will be here for"? The doc said "when your wounds heal and there is no more wolfsbayne inside of your bloodstream, which there was a lot of". Josh asked "and how long could that take"? The doc said "due to the excessive amount of damage a few more days". I asked "how many"? He said "2 to 3 more days".
