The Darkness Inside

Ch:17

Chris kissed my cheek which woke me up. He said "your home sweetie"! I rubbed my eyes then looked at my apartment. I said "text me after rehersal and tell me how it went". He smiled and said "ok, I will". I leaned in and so did he. We kissed for a few seconds then I got out of the car. I shut the door then blew him a kiss.

He acted all cute because he pretended to catch it and stick oit on his cheek. I laughed as I walked up to my apartment. He honked the horn and pulled out. I was so tired and still half alseep. It took me 5 minutes just to walk up the flight of stairs to my apartment. I trudged to the door and got out my apartment key. I put it into the key hole and I turned the knob.

I walked in and shut the door behind me. I went over to my bed and I fell onto it. In a few seconds I was out like a light again. But not for long. About 3 hours later Chris texted me and I looked at it. He said "band rehersal went great, but my throat hurts". I asked "why does your throat hurt"? He said "well lets just say it's from me singing".

I got curious so I asked "what kind of music do you sing"? It took him awhile to answer until he said "metal and rock". I texted back "awesome, cant wait to hear it". He sent a smiley face emoji then he said "goodnight babe, love you". I smiled and texted him back saying "love you too, and goodnight".

After the text sent I turned off my phone and I fell back asleep. But not for long again. I heard footsteps running down the hall and they knocked on my door. I shot up and I wlaked over to the door. It was Mikayla from before. She was covered in blood and her eyes were glowing.

I asked "what happened"? She said "Reedus is on his way, he tried to kill me, but I got away". I said "ok let me think of something". I pulled her in and I took her over to the bed. I dug my claws into her neck to take her pain away. I absorbed all of the pain, but it hurt me this time. My wolf said "be careful Shelby, now when you get rid of peoples pain it will hurt you and black stuff will go into your veins".

When I looked at my wrist black stuff was moving through my veins. She said in a faint voice "thank you". Just as I was about to say something to her someone started to pound on the door. I said "hide under the bed, now". She got up then crawled under the bed. I got out my claws again and I held them behind my back.

I slowly walked over to the door then I asked "who's there"? In a bitter voice someone said "it's Reedus". I said "you dont belong here". He laughed and said "well your still my mate and you havent been a faithful one". I laughed and said "at least I didnt sleep with someone else, and if I do that means I wont be your mate anymore".

I smiled at the thought. But I didnt smile for to long. Reedus said "then I'll have to kill whoever your other mate is then I'll mark you again". I said "I wont ever let you touch him". He laughed and said "we'll see about that". I said "just get out of here". He said "not until you give me back Mikayla, I have some things to say to her".

I looked at the bed and I seen Mikayla's brown eyes glowing a bright light brown. I said to Reedus "she's not here". He laughed again and said "I smell her in there, now just let me have her". I said "well thats the thing, I'm not gonna hand her over to you".

He started to growl and his snarl made my stomach uneasy. I said "if you know whats best for you you'll leave". He said 'if you dont let me in I guess I'll have to see what your friends next door are doing". My heart beat speeded up so I opened the door, but I wasnt going to let his hurt any of them.

He walked in and seen Mikayla's eyes. He started to walk over to her, but I put my claws in the back of his neck. Reedus yelped and he dropped to his knees. I smiled evily and said "now you have 2 options". He said "oh yeah, and what are they"? I said "1, you leave and never come back, or 2, I will just give Elisha a call and tell her and the hunters where you are. I will tell them that you are a huge threat and that you need to be executed".
