The Darkness Inside

Ch:37

At first my heart was beating fast and I was nervous, but then I smelled he air. It smelt like people from my pack. I whispered "Ethan...Aiden". One of the wolves said "yes, it's us, the twins". I asked "what are you dong here"? Ethan said "well we wanted to ask you a question. I said "text me...My boyfriend is here right now...and he heard you guys". 

Ethan growled asking "can we meet him"? I said "now is not the time, maybe tomorrow". He said "ok, well then I guess we will go now". I said "goodbye guys" and they said "goodbye Shelby".

Ethan slid a piece of paper under the door. It had him and his brother's phone numbers on it. I stuffed it in my shorts the Chris asked "who was that"? I said "there was nobody there". He asked "that what were the scratching noises on the wall"? I said "I dont know, maybe it was from a cat or something".

I walked back over to the bed then I laid down. I said "dont worry about it babe, come on and back down with me". He sat on the bed again then he wrapped his arms around me. I asked "are you scared"? He said "when I was younger I used to hear those exact same noises all the time on my bedroom window. We lived in the woods so my mom would tell me that it was probably an animal".

I wondered if when he was little he was actually listening to wolf claws on his window. I asked "but are you scared now"? He said "I dont know, I remember I would be terrified at night because I could have sworn that I coild hear wolf howls coming from the woods, but we dont have wolves here in Pennsylvania. And once I was walking through the woods in the middle of the night when...". He stopped.

I asked "when what"? He said "nothing, you'll think it's stupid". I grabbed ahold of his hand then I said "I believe whatever you say...please tell me". He said "well I seen something in the distance. It was dark out, but I could see the outline of it. It looked like a dog, but bigger...much bigger. It has these glowing red eyes that I'll never forget. It's fur as as black as night. It snarled at me so I took off running back to the house. As I ran I heard it chasing me. It was running fast, but luckily I was by the house".

I asked "did you see it after that"? He said "well when I closed the door, whatever it was rammed into the door and cracked it open. I ran up to my bedroom and I locked the door behind me. Then I ran over to my bed and I hid under the covers. After I hid under the covers for awhile I walked over to the window. I looked and it was roaming in the yard. It looked me directly in the eyes and it howled loudly".

As soon as he said that I knew that he did indeed see a werewolf. I asked "what do you think it was"? He said "a huge dog with rabiese maybe". I said "dogs dont have glowing red eyes". He said "I know, but nobody believes me. I told my mom and dad, but they said it was all my imagination. I went to show them the door, but if was perfectly fine. I just wish somebody believed me". I said "but I do". He smiled then he said "thanks babe". I said "you can always tell me anything... I will always believe you".

He smiled then he kissed my cheek. He whispered "I know I can, and I love you for that...and I love you for a million other reaons"! I smiled then I said "and I love you babe, for a trillion reasons". He asked "oh, is this a competition"? I smiled then I saud "only if you want it to be". I kissed him then he wrapped his arm around my waist.

He brought me close to his then he kissed me back. Our lips parted and stacked ontp of eachothers. I felt his peircings on my lips. They were cold and very smooth. They glided along my lips. I guess it doesnt hurt him. But because I am me I got curious.

I asked "do your piercings hurt your lips when we kiss"? He said "no, I sometimes forget that I even have them in, I feel them move when we kiss, but it doesnt hurt". I kissed him again then I yanked on his piercings lightly with my teeth. He laughed a tiny bit then he said "still doesnt hurt" as we kissed. I said "I dont want to hurt you, I just wanted to try something new".

Chris smiled then he said "well it's cute because you are just too damn innocent". I laughed then I said "no I'm not". He said "yes you are...you are the most innocent girl I know"! I smiled then I said "yeah, but I'm your innocent girl". He smiled back then he said "exactly sweetheart"! I yawned so I said "lets go back to sleep"! He yawned then he said "that sounds pretty good right now".

I laid my head back down on his shoulder then I wrapped my arm around his stomach. I listened to the sound of his heartbeat. It was beating pretty quick. He was really shooken up by the noises and when I made him tell me the story. I closed my eyes then I fell asleep again.

MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT:

I woke up because I couldnt sleep anymore. Chris was sound asleep so I crawled out of bed. I crawled out carefully and quietly not wanting to wake him up. I grabbed my phone then I walked over to the door. I opened it then I walked outside. I walked over to the railing and I looked down at the parking lot.

I remembered that I had the twins cell phone numbers on a piece of paper in my back pocket. I pulled it out then I called Ethan. The phone didnt even do a full ring because he picked it up so fast. I said "hey". He said "hey Shelby". I asked "so what did you want to tell me"? I leaned my arms on the railing and the cool night air felt good on my hot skin.

Ethan said "well I just wanted to let you know that we met the rest of the pack and they all seemed pretty nice. We are all hunting right now and we caught the scent of a guy named Reedus. A girl named Mikayla said that you would know that name". I asked "oh god, where did you follow his scent to"? He said "back to your apartment complex".
