The Darkness Inside

Ch:42

Bullets exploded the tree in front of us. It was the hunters from a few mornings ago. I snarled at them then I said to Josh "get Chris out of here". Chris said "no, I'm staying with you". I screamed "GO NOW"!

Chris and Josh started to run. Then I looked back at Mikayla, Alexia, Becky, and Jamie. They seen the look I gave them so they all began to run in the opposite direction. Ethan, Aiden, Dustin, the other vamps, and I stayed behind.

I shifted into my human form then I asked the hunters "do you really think we are afraid of you"? The guy said "no, but you should". I laughed then I said "you aren't hurting my pack". I shifted back into my wolf then I sprang on top of him.

The twins ran over and attacked 3 guys off to the side. Dustin and the vamps took the remaining group of guys. I looked into the guys eyes and I could see the fear in his eyes. I shifted into my human then I said while still holding him down "you shouldn't mess with my pack".

I glowed my eyes at him then I snarled showing my teeth. He tried to grab a knife, but I cut his throat with my sharp claws. He closed his eyes then he dropped the knife. I stood up and I looked around.

Ethan and Aiden were playing around with one of the hunters. They were pushing him back and forth. I walked over to them and I grabbed the guy. I picked him up by the collar of his shirt. He begged "please don't kill me". I said "I bet a lot of wolves begged for their lives, but you didn't spare them".

His face lit up with fear when I showed him my bloody claws. I slashed his throat then I dropped him to the floor, I looked at everyone then I asked "are you ok". Ethan was about to say something, but he got cut off.

More gunshots filled the air. I panicked because they came from the direction that the rest of my pack was in. I said "lets go"! We bolted through the forest. A tree branch smacked me I my face, but I kept going.

I looked ahead and I could see my pack fighting more hunters. I ran faster then I sprang onto one of them. I snapped his neck then I moved onto another one. Josh said "nice of you to join us".

I smiled then I continued to fight and kill hunters. I looked around then I saw Chris. He was fighting a hunter. The hunter pushed Chris away and he got out his gun. I sprang at the hunter and I knocked him down to the ground.

Chris looked at me then he smiled. I nodded then I ripped the hunters throat out. I wasn't going to let anyone touch or hurt Chris. I was very protective of him. I heard a yelp so I looked towards the sound.

Alexia got shot by a hunter. Mikayla screamed, but Josh held her back. Anger filled me so I sprinted towards him and I pushed him to the ground. I transformed into my human then I picked up the gun.

The hunter looked at me with regretful eyes. I said don't ever shoot my pack members". I pulled he trigger and the bullet went through his lungs. I dropped the shotgun then I ran over to Alexia.

She was lying as still as she could as she whimpered. I grabbed her paw and I too away her pain as I stroked through her fur. My veins turned black from the excessive amount of pain I was taking away from her.

Josh let Mikayla go so she ran over to us. I ran my hand through her fur again then I felt a wet spot. She yelped then she squirmed. The bullet hole just missed her spine. I put my hand over the hole then I used my powers to remove all of the small bullets out of her.

After they were all out I pressed my hand over the wound. She snarled and growled at me. In my powerful alpha voice I said "HOLD STILL"! She whimpered then she submitted to me. She laid still so I could help her.

My powers went back into her bullet wound. The powers stopped the bleeding and it took some of the pain away. My body started to ache from all of the pain. I helped her up onto her paws.

I transformed and I helped her walk. She rubbed up against me like Chris did before. I asked "are you ok"? She said "yeah, I'm ok, thanks to you". I smiled then I said to Mikayla "take her back to my apartment, she can rest there". Mikayla nodded then she and Alexia walked out of the woods.

I looked back at everybody else. All of the wolves bowed down to me. Even the vampires bowed down to me. Josh said "you are truly courageous and you are the best luna we could ever have". I smiled then I changed into my wolf.

With my eyes glowing bright I held my head high as I walked past everyone. Chris caught up to me and he licked my cheek. I rubbed my face on his then I kept walking. We all walked out of the dangerous forest. We all had enough fights and injuries for one night.
