The Darkness Inside

Ch:11

We walked up the steps to the front door and a man opened the door for us. I smiled and said "thanks". Becky and Ricky did the same thing. As soon as I stepped foot into the house I knew this was going to be a good time.

People, mostly men, turned and stared at me. I smiled at everyone and waited for Ricky and Becky. Becky came up to me and asked "do you mind if I dance for a while"? I said "no, of course not"! Ricky asked me "you like it"? I smiled and said "this is amazing". I looked at everybody in the room. I examined their masks and their clothing.

The dresses were nice and the tux's were very good. A girl came over to us and asked Ricky "you want to dance"? Ricky looked at me and I said "you dont need my permission, go have fun". He took the girls hand and led her onto the dance floor. I smiled and said to myself "you dont want me, I'm not good for you".

I walked over to a table filled with snacks and drinks. I picked up a drink and walked over to the stairs. I leaned against the post and started to drink. After I finished my drink I looked around to find a garbage can.

I seen one by the front door so I made my way over. I threw the cup away and walked to where I stood before I got a drink. The front door opened and more people came in. There were 3 guys and 4 girls in that small crowd of people.

The guy that didnt go off somewhere with a woman seen me. He gave me this look like he was disgusted with me. He mumbled "freak" and walked over to a girl with a pink dress on. I whispered "asshole" and scanned my eyes over the people dancing.

I seen Becky dancing with the guy and she hads a huge smile on her face. She happened to look over and she seen me. I smiled at her and she smiled back. I looked for Ricky in the crowd, but I didnt see him.  I looked over by the drinks and he was standing there. The girl wasnt there, it was jut him.

After he seen me he walked over and stood next to me. I asked "wheres the girl"? He said "I wasnt interested in her". I said "thats a shame, she seemed really pretty". He said "well she just wasnt my type". I asked "well what is your type, maybe I can help you find Miss perfect for you".

Ricky said "well I want a girl thats strong, has a sweet personality, a girl who isnt afraid to tell me her secrets...". I said "ok enough, I know your describing me, but trust me, you dont want me". He asked "but what if I do"? I said "trust me, you dont need me".

I walked away and searched for a girl who was standing alone. I seen one so I walked up to her and said "thats my friend over there, go over and dance with him". She smiled and said "he looks cute". I said "trust me, he is, now go dance with him"! I wlaked her over and said "this is Ricky". He said "nice to meet you".

His tone sounded like he was upset and sad, but he didnt need a girl like me. They walked onto the dance floor and began to dance. I smiled when he looked over and he looked down at the ground looking very upset. I felt kind of bad, but I didnt want to risk him getting hurt.

The door opened again so I looked at who it was. This guy walked in and he stood at the doorway. He looked around the room, then we locked eyes. He fixed his shirt and tightened his bow. I stared into his eyes and he stared into mine. He started to walk over, but I began to walk away from him.

I looked back and he was trying to catch up to me. I picked up my pace and walked through a huge group of people. I stood back and watched him as he looked around for me. He stopped and looked around the room. It looked like he was scanning the whole area carefully. Then he looked my way and seen me. He make a tiny smile and walked towards me.

I smiled at him then walked away from him again. We started to play cat and mouse. I ran up the steps and onto the second floor. I put my elbows on the bar and looked down over the balcony. He stopped and looked around the room again. He looked up and started to scan the balcony. He caught sight of me again and he ran up the steps.
