The Darkness Inside

Ch:9

At noon I got a text for Becky. She said "help me look for a dress to wear to the ball". I sent her a smiley face and an ok. I got off the bed and walked over to the door. I grabbed my wallet and dialed Becky's number. I asked "where should we meet"? She replied saying "diner".

I walked out of the complex and jogged the whole way to the diner. When I got there she was standing outside waiting for me. I smiled and asked "ready to find the perfect dress"? She smiled and said "yes, I'm excited"!

We walked down the block and went into an expensive dress store. The dress I bought was better then all of the dresses in here and mine was cheap. She locked eyes with a dress and quickly walked over to it. She took it off the rack and said "I want this one". I smiled and said "well that didnt take long".

A lady walked over to us and asked "do you need a dressing room"? Becky said "yes please". She and the lady walked over to a dressing room, but I stayed behind to look around. I saw a woman in the corner of the store crying.

I quickly walked over to her, but when I got close to her she just vanished into thin air. I rubbed my eyes thinking I just imagined it. But I heard the cry again. I turned around and there she was again, only she was in the other corner of the store. When I went over to her she vanished again.

The lady who worked in the store walked over to me and walked right through the crying woman. The lady didnt even notice her. I asked my banshee "whats going on"? My banshee said "being a banshee means you can see ghosts". I said "well thats nice to know, but what is that woman doing here"?

My banshee said "she is stuck". I asked "what do you mean stuck"? She said "I mean something is holding her back, she cant cross over to the other side yet". I walked over to the woman crying and I asked her in a whisper "whats wrong"? She looked up at me and asked "how can you see me"?

I smiled and said "I'm part banshee, I'm here to help you". She said "I cant leave". I asked "why not"? She said "I dont know where to go". I said "after you get out of the store you will know where to go". I grabbed her hand and said "follow me".

She held my hand as I walked her over to the door. She walked out the door and looked back at me. A mist began to form around her and she said "thank you". I smiled and said "your welcome". She disappeared, then her mist rose into the sky. I smiled and said "be free".

I walked over to the dressing rooms and knocked on Becky's door. I asked "hows it going in there"? She said "I dont know if I like it now". I said "let me see, come on out". She walked out and I said "you look beautiful, whats wrong with it"? She said "Its to much money". I asked "how much is it"? She said "$300". I said "dont worry about it". I took the dress from her hands and I carried it to the cash register.

The worked smiled and asked "is this all"? I said "yes". I handed her the money and she gave me my change. She put the dress in a bag and said "thanks for shopping here". I smiled and said "your welcome".

I walked over to Becky and said "here". I handed her the bag and she just stared at me. After a few seconds she hugged me and said "thank you". I hugged her back and said "anything to help out a friend. I heard my demons voice so I told Becky "be right back".

I ran out of the store and ran along the sidewalk. My eyes turned black and I stopped running. I felt myself go away, but I stood my ground. I fought back for my body and I beat him. He was pissed, but I would let him take over.

I quickly walked back to the store and Becky said "I need to find a mask". I said "I know the perfect place". We walked the whole way to Party City. When we got inside I lead her to the mask section. I grabbed a green mask with a green feather on it. I said "this matches your dress color". She grabbed it from my hands and said "ok I'll get it, but Im paying for it".

I waited for her by the door while she checked out. After we were done I said "well I'm gonna head home, we can meet tomorrow at the diner, I will take you somewhere". She smiled and said "ok I'll bring my mask and dress". I said "you better"! I started to jog back to the apartment and I was so excited for tomorrow night!
