The Darkness Inside

Ch:47

As Chris walked over he hit the wire so I had to act quickly. I pushed him just before this huge spear came flying at us. He fell backwards and hit the ground. When he looked up at me he was wide eyed.

The spear went the whole way through my upper stomach. I wrapped my hands around the spear then I dropped to my knees. Blood trickled out of my mouth. Blood also poured out of the wound.

Chris grabbed me and he held me close. He said "god no, please don't leave me again". I asked "are you ok"? He said "yeah, but don't worry about me". I put my hand on his cheek then I said "please don't be sad. Don't you dare cry when I'm gone. Just know that I love you and that I will always be with you babe".

Tears streamed down his face. I wiped them away with my thumb then I said "I love you Chris". He said "I love you too" in between crying. I looked around and seen everybody crying. I whispered "Josh, please take care of Chris for me".

Josh knelt down beside me then he grabbed my hand. He said "I will". I seen his close his eyes then he got a weird look on his face. I asked "what's wrong"? He said "I cant take your pain away". I said in a cam voice "that's because it doesn't hurt anymore".

That's when I knew that I as going to die. Once you don't feel anything then it's pretty bad. I pulled on the spear and it slowly came out. Josh said "no, stop, you'll just make it worse". I said "Im already dying, I just want this out of me".

Chris put his hands over mine then he helped me pull it out. Since everything was numb I asked "is it out yet"? Chris nodded as more and more tears came out. He wrapped his arms around me even more and he held me close.

I weakly put my arm around him. As he cried he said "please don't leave me. I love you Shelby. I cant live without you. Your my girlfriend, I cant loose you". I said "it's ok. I will always be with you. You might not see me, but I'll be there. I will never leave you sweetie".

He nuzzled his head into my neck and he broke down. As he cried and took trembling breaths of hair he said "don't...leave...me". I put my hand in his hair then I took his head off of my neck. I said "don't be sad. I'm dying in the arms of my first and only love. You were and will always be my only true love. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I'm so glad that I met you at that ball. And I'm glad you followed me through the ball room"

We were both crying now, but he was crying more than me. He leaned down then he kissed me. I savored our last kiss, so did he. While we kissed I felt darkness spread over me. I opened my eyes and everything was fuzzy.

Everybody was crowding around me. They were asking "Shelby are you ok", or "stay with us, fight through it". Since Josh, Ethan, and Aiden were alpha's they bit me. They were trying to make my wound heal. It was too late.

I said to Chris "I love you babe". He grabbed my hand then he kissed it. He said "I love you too". I smiled as the haze and fuzziness got worse. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I started to cough. Blood came out when I coughed.

At this point I couldn't really hear anything. Everybody's voice was muffled. Blackness closed in even more. When I was looking around at everybody I seen somebody hanging in the back of the pack. I squinted to get a better look at the figure.

Once the figure came into focus I knew who it was. Brad was standing there. I said "Brad I thought you were dead". Josh looked back then he said "nobodies there Shelby". That's when I knew that I was seeing Brad's ghost.

I smiled causing him to smile back. I kissed Chris one last time then I said "I love you babe". He kissed me then slowly I closed my eyes and I faded into the blackness.

Before I knew it I was in my brother's arms. I looked up at him then I smiled. I gave him a kiss then I said "I missed you"! He hugged me tightly then he said "I missed you too". After I hugged him I looked back.

My pack was crying and holding onto each other for support. Chris was holding my limp and lifeless body as he cried controllably. I walked over to hi and I knelt down beside him. I kissed his cheek then I wrapped my arms around him.

I whispered in his ear "I will always be with you". He couldn't see, hear, or feel me, but I was there. Seeing him cry made me cry even more now. Brad walked over then he said "he really loves you". As I cried I said "yeah, he does, I'll miss him".

 I dried my eyes, but more tears ran down my face. I looked over at Brad then I said "I cant be without him. I cant leave him all aloe, not again". Brad turned towards me then he said "you don't have to leave him". I was about to ask him something then Josh screamed "CHRIS DROP THE GUN"!

I looked over to see Chris standing with a gun pointed to the side of his head. Josh said "Chris, w already lost Shelby. We cant lose you too". Mikayla said "Chris, Shelby wouldn't want you to do this. I bet her spirit is here with us now. Don't do this...please".

Chris said "there's no point in me living if I cant be with her". I screamed "CHRIS NO"! In my banshee voice. I guess my scream could be heard because everybody started to look around. Once they listened they knew it was me.

Chris cried even more now. He said "here I come sweetheart". I screamed "NO" again, this time it was much louder. Chris closed his eyes then he pulled the trigger.
