The Darkness Inside

Ch:31

A howl awoke me from my sleep. I listened to whose it was. It was a wolf I never heard before. Tehn others joined in. I used my nose and I smelled for them. They didnt smell like they were apart of Reedus's pack. I looked over to see where Josh was, but he wasnt in the room.

I was still laying my head down on Chris's lap so he fell asleep sitting upright on the couch. I slowly got up and I scanned the area more carefully. I noticed that the front door was cracked open a tiny bit. My guard raised and my wolf started to growl. I said "calm down, it's ok".

I walked over to the door and I looked around outside. I seen a pack of wolves standing in the middle of the street outside. They were the ones that were howling. I looked closer to the house and there was Josh. He was snarling as he was in his wolf form. I whispered "Josh, get back here". He didnt listen so I had to go after him.

As I walked out of the house Josh and the other pack got closer to eachother. They were growling at eachother. If I didnt do something them the pack would kill Josh. Just before they could attack I ran over and I stood infront of Josh. I asked "who are you"?

One of the guys from the pack said "she knows about our kind, we need to kill her now". I said "I'm a wolf too, you idiot". I glowed my eyes at them so they knew. One of the pack members ran at me, but I reacted quickly. I punched him in the face and he flew back.

I transformed into my wolf and others in the pack said "look, she's a luna". The guy infront changed into his wolf form. He was an alpha. I was bigger than him though. He bowed down then the others in his pack did the same. Josh looked at them in amazement.

I asked again "who are you"? The alpha said "we were just looking from new recruits, thats all". I said "your lying, now tell me the truth". He looked down with shame. He said "sorry, the real reason we are here is because we are hunting". I said "well hunt somewhere else, this is our territory".

The alpha said "sorry to upset you and your mate". I looked back at Josh then I said "he is not my mate". The alpha's face brightned up and he asked "you single"? I said "no, I am with a human". The alpha laughed then he said "you cant be mates with a human, he needs to be killed now".

He took a few steps towards the house. I grabbed him by his throat and I threw him to the ground. I snarled and I made my eyes glow red. In my powerful alpha voice I said "if you get any closer I will rip your throat out. You dont dare go near him". He started to tremble and whimper. I asked "do I make myself clear"?

In a shaky voice he said "y...ye...yes". I helped him up then I said "sorry, I am just very protective of him, and he doesnt know about our kind". He said "well as long as it stays that way". I said "I can assure you".

Josh said to me "hey we might be able to use them". A lightbulb blinked in my head. I said to the alpha "we are in a war with this crazy alpha named Reedus. He has put many lives in danger and he is very dangerous. If he gets to us he will kill us all. We are trying to stop him and kill him". The alpha said "if you are asking us to fight with you we will do it, under one condition that is".

I asked "what is the condition"? He said "we get to hunt in these woods". I said "done deal". I also said "we have wolf hunters and vampires fighting with us too". The alpha asked "are you crazy"? He continued by saying "you are joined by our 2 sworn enemies". I said "they are actually really nice, and we need all the help that we can get".

The alpha pased back and forth until he came to a decision. He said "fine, we will fight with you, but if theygive us any trouble we are gone". I said "thank you". He said "well your welcome, and I cant say no to a luna". I asked Josh "can we make them apart of our pack"? He nodded and he said "perform the ritual".
