Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers

Sub Boss: Timburr

Geek lept over the massive log Timburr thrusted at him. Volt and Cubone had joined in the fight. Eevee and Charmander went on ahead to try and find the tree. Geek landed softly, then immediately got slammed in the back by the same log. Face planting into the ground, he flipped over to see Cubone standing in front of him, bone clashed with wood. Timburr was right about one thing. He had been practicing a lot. Volt charged forward, slamming his Iron Tail into Timburr's back as he was distracted by Cubone. After he flew a few feet, Timburr slammed his log into the ground and turned around to attack again. That move, it looked so familiar to Geek. It looked and felt so, recent. After finally getting up, Geek charged and launched multiple Aura Spheres. Timburr used his log like a bat to knock them back.

Geek used an Extreme Speed once Timburr got close enough. After landing some hits however, Timburr lodged the log in the ground and spun around it, using a Double Kick right in Geek's face. Cubone followed up behind Geek with a well timed Bone Club. Timburr flew back and into some bushes. He didn't come back out.

"Timburr, if you can hear us, don't come back and try to fight us. We're done with your stupid games," Volt said as he helped Geek up.

After a few minutes of walking along, the group of three finally came to the stairs. Above them was the supposed Pecha Tree. Walking up the stairs, the group entered a large clearing area, and a massive tree. Growing on the tree, were massive and very beautiful Pecha Berries. Volt and Cubone started picking berries and stuffing them in their bags, but Geek was worried about something else. If it hadn't take them that long to get here, where were Charmander and Eevee? He stood lookout for a bit, then switched with Volt to start picking more berries. They needed as many as they could carry.

"Hey guys, where's Eevee and Charmander?" Volt suddenly asked after realizing they weren't there.

"I was wondering that myself," Geek said as he stopped picking for a second.

"Maybe they're still trying to find the stairs? You know how bad Charmander is at exploring dungeons," Cubone chimed in.

"Maybe," Volt said as he rubbed his head.

Things were quiet for a while, but then Charmander and Eevee bolted upon the stairs as fast as they could, screaming and panting the whole way.

"RUN!" Eevee shouted as Onix came from the stairs, roaring and throwing boulders the whole way.

"HOLY-" Volt began saying but was cut off as he dodged a boulder.

Geek knew something bad everyone else didn't. If they fought Onix, they would probably lose the Pecha Berries, but if they ran, they would probably escape with a few if maybe ten. Geek had to make a choice. Grabbing his bag, he threw it off and stood in front of everyone.

"Everyone, run! Get the berries to Skitty! I'll hold off Onix as long as I can!" Geek commanded.

"Right! Everyone! Go go go!" Cubone said as the ran around Onix and Geek. 

Charmander grabbed Geek's bag on the way.

"Alright Onix. We've already done this once, so if you want a repeat in history, back off," Geek warned.

"You think you can stop me!? Hah! This is my domain! This is where my strength is better! Fight me if you dare, 'hero,'" Onix said as he began throwing boulders again.

Geek jumped up and Extreme Speed attacked Onix in the face. As he did, time slowed down almost, and he noticed something in Onix's eyes. Red and Black lightning. Landing on the ground, Geek quickly switched to Aura Vision. Just as he thought. The dark vibes that the orb and Tsunami were giving off, was the same thing Onix was giving off. He was being controlled by an orb, which meant that an orb was nearby. Before Onix recovered, Geek sent an Aura Sphere into him, causing him to Defense Curl. This was his chance. Quickly surveying the area, Geek saw it. The tiny, almost invisible line connecting Onix and the orb. That's where he needed to go.

Onix burst out of his Defense Curl and Tackled Geek, sending him flying into some trees. Geek almost recovered quick enough, but was hit by another Tackle, sending him flying even further. He finally stood up, staring Onix down as more boulders flew at him. Geek, with all his fury built up, opened his mouth, and fired. The Dragon Pulse was strong, deadly, and devastating to Onix as his smashed all the boulders and sent Onix flying, just like that first time. Geek landed, suddenly tired ad winded.

"Gotta... keep that... as my... finishing move..." Geek told himself.

After walking a ways back to the Pecha Tree, he followed the small line. It led him to another clearing, exactly like the one Tsunami had found. The white orb sat on the log in the middle. Raising his palm, he brought it down, but stopped just before touching the orb. He thought he heard a voice. It was faint, distant, and seemed to echo through his head. He heard it again. It was getting louder. Then, finally, Geek could make out what the voice was saying.

"This isn't over," It kept repeating.

Geek smashed the orb to pieces, then picked up a piece and started walking home. Hopefully everyone else had made it home alright. Even more, hopefully Skitty was okay. Hopefully.
